yo yo - im back :) how is everyone over here? I am currently experiencing issues of the nap kind- the trying to stand type. keep putting M down for a nap- silence. then a few minutes later i hear crying- go in and shes clutching the side of the cot while standing, in tears. put her back down and she just repeats it! where did my napper go?? i would like her back please.

Calais - Click on Member Control Panel and then Edit Profile and then remove the code under your Signature (I think.) Hope you're all doing well... so ummm... being a bit fuzzy headed, leaving a cafe this afternoon and enjoying a gorgeously decadent slice of cake to celebrate my belated birthday, I managed to scrap my tiny, wee car against a big ol'ute. My car came out second best (there's just a little bit of a scrape on theirs). I left a note, but it was hours ago and they still haven't called and I'm all tied up in knots! I just want to cry (some more). Hello Ladies - It has been a while since I have been on. Extremely busy as always.
CindyP so sorry to hear about your baby shower not going ahead, I understand why you cancelled though. There were many a times when I said to my girlfriends "forget it, it's too hard, too much of a drama etc etc. Thankfully they didn't let me cancel.
You most def should have one - get your girlfriends to organise and hey if people can't make it on the date you set then tough they miss out not you! You could always catch up with them another time. One thing I did to take a bit of the pressure off me as to who was coming and who wasn’t is I had my girlfriends take the RSVP’s that way all I needed to know was the numbers to cater for.
If you are like me and feel guilty about asking others to do things for you there are lots of cafes out there that could do a little afternoon tea or something like that. Do it now before you get too much further along you will enjoy it more! I am sure your friends if given the opportunity would love to do something for you.
To those that are missing loved ones at this time my thoughts are with you.
Can one of you please send me the password and instructions for the Private Group?

Feel like everything will be better if I paint my toenails pink... had a Kit Kat I was going to have as a treat after finishing some reports... somehow, wrapper no longer has chocolate in it and no reports are done!

I had white spots before when I got up to fast. Just found out today that we had 3 gas leaks in the house so my spots could have been gas related. Heheheheh.

My thoughts are with you as well. Just the other day both hubby and I were talking about that both our fathers have passed away and will not get to see this milestone in ourlives so yeah I feel your pain on that one. Sending you happy thoughts and hugs to make this day easier for you.

Oh Cindy! I'm so sorry to hear that - I'm having a wee cry for you now too and sending you lots of hugs.

Families can be a real pain in the butt sometimes, but don't let that take away from the joy of your beautiful bubs that's waiting to meet you. Is there any way you could organise a low-key lunch/brunch/bbq type shower (or a dear friend to do it?) With maybe the men also, so they can bring some balance to the mix? Talk to DH and see what he can do - or get him to give the family the hard word. Sending you lots more loves and hugs. xx

Today's my dad's birthday and he passed away 2 1/2 years ago, so I'm pretty teary myself. Every time I rang home he'd ask if I was giving him a grandchild yet and it broke my heart to say no. Could not stop crying today. Was meant to be my baby shower and because people in the family could not get along and was just making things difficult the shower was cancelled. Sucked waking and seeing such a lovely day outside and knowing it was meant to be my baby shower. Hubby did not know what to do as I would not stop sobbing.

Then he was like I thought you did not want it that is why it was cancelled. All he got out of me was sob sob yes I cancelled it but only because there was so much negative things going on sob sob. I mean really now this is my first kid and have planned how I wanted my shower to be since I found out I was pregnant. I cant just switch that part of my brain off.

I got a reply from Angie and she said she was getting it sorted and would send me the passwords straightaway but she has not done that yet. Think will message her again as well.

I am also on fortnightly visits now as well. The last scan showed bubs to be in the 95th percentile for abdo measurement as well.

Hey ladies,
Been off the radar too - busy with DS birthday and conference over the weekend.
Glad everyone is keeping relatively well. I am on fortnightly visits now to the MW. I thought that was normal from 28 weeks. My growth scan last week put little miss in the 80th centile for weight and her abdominal circumfernce was in the 95th. Chubby little number! I only hope her head is smaller than DS' was! In saying all that I take those scans with a grain of salt .... quite a high margin of error.
I am emotional too - I cried watching DS watching a video of song (life is wonderful) - he loves it's walks around singing la la la la la la la la life is wonderful ..... la la la la la la la la la life goes full circle (sung as 2 year old) - his face was so precious and I felt so lucky to have him and the one growing inside.
I think I'll PM Angie too and see about the private forum - I am not on FB and it'd bee nice to be able to share a bit more.

Hey Ladies,

Emotional doesn't even begin to cover it! A student's mum came in on Tuesday and told me her DS was really scratchy on Monday night when he got home from school. When she asked him what was going on, he burst into tears because he was worried about me taking Monday off! She told me yesterday morning and I started bawling.

ee, I love my pillow. NO pain today! I could have done a happy dance! It can be a bit awkward in bed, but I'm not tossing and turning as much either. I hate my belt though - I wear my belt over my clothes so I don't get too sweaty.

Auzzymum - hope everything goes okay with your son's school - hearing aids and those make such a difference to children's learning, it's really great to see as a teacher.

I'm on fortnightly visits to my MW now, as I've hit 30 weeks - with my spotting this week I'm perfectly happy to see her every week! Because I'm a bit overweight though, she does have trouble palpating me apparently (she said it very nicely). That also made me cry.

Canuckiwi, glad to hear your pain has been less lately! I have been wearing a belt, but not as much as I should be as it makes me all sweaty! Oh, I saw those pillows at the show- might have to look into them as they looked great.

Aww can totally relate to the crazy emotionalness at times! Part of it for me is that my toddler is being, well, 2 years old and full of himself! I just worry how we will cope with the new baby and Mr Destruct-a-toddler and sometimes find that a bit overwhelming.

I'm on 3 weekly MW visits now- last time I only had 2 weekly ones from around 36/37 weeks. Maybe your MW wants to see you more frequently due to the issues you've had this pregnancy?

Hello Ladies.

Sorry I have been MIA this week.
I have been trying to rest up so I can cope with the next few days.
Tomorrow I have to drive a 5hour round trip to get DS's hearing aids.
Then I have to spend Friday at the school with him. Teaching everyone that needs to know how to use them and keep them on him, When to take them off and all that stuff.

Bub has been moving around and kicking me a whole lot the last few days.
Still not turning the right way though.

Is everyone on 2 week MW visits now? Mine asked last visit and said no. I'm happy with monthly until 30 weeks. Now that things have settled down enough for me not to need monitoring.

Rickers I hear you on the crying all the time.
I have been loosing it over the smallest things. Even just seeing another baby or preg lady sets me off.
But a friend said yesterday that I'm looking really fat and I laughed and told her that it's about time someone said it I was starting to think I wasn't!!!
Must be hormonal for me to be so up and down.

Cindy - Thanks for trying for the private forum! How exciting to get all the clothes - my sis-in-law sent me a big package from Canada packed with gorgeous goodies. My DH had to sit through a baby fashion show a couple of times!

Had a bit of spotting last night and this morning. Needless to say I was a bit worried. All fine though, went to my midwife and bubs is a-ok. I've been ordered to stay home from work the rest of the day, put my feet up and do some knitting. I could think of worse ways to spend the day.

Right now between having a cold and my breast leaking I feel like I am falling apart heheheeheh.

Em - It has, thanks - the pain's been a LOT more manageable the past week (even had a pain free hour on my birthday, last Saturday!)

I got my letter from the DHB, so I'll send in the documents and hopefully get my appointment soon to see the physio. Are you using a belt for your sacroilliac? I also got a pillow at the baby show called Mumanu and it's really helped at night - I'm a lot less achey when I get up for my midnight visits to the toilet or in the morning. It could possibly help your sacroilliac too... maybe it's worth a shot?

Would also love an invite to the private forum!

I'm so glad hubby is off on university holidays now as its not so much my hips that have been an issue but my sacroilliac. So hoping my physio referral comes through soon! Its been hard not being able to pick up mr2 when he gets upset.

Hello ladies

Sorry I haven't been around for the last wee while.

I too am really starting to struggle with my day to day activity. I am continually finding I literally have to stop and grab something to steady me or drop to the floor to stop me from falling over and to catch my breath. I am beginning to think that perhaps I need to knock back work (last thing I want to do). The obstetrician I last saw (wasn’t my regular) said it was normal pregnancy symptom’s …. Hmm yes I total agree to some degree just not to the degree that it is happening to me, unfortunately as much as they would love to help it is really hard for them (even harder when they don’t fully know your background) when there is no ‘reason’ for what goes on with my darn body! I’m the 2 ‘percenter’ that despite all the tests under the sun there is no rhyme or reason why. The worst thing is it scares the crap out of me!! (Have had two strokes and developed seizures so far and really don’t want anything further to happen to me). – I see my physician next week she will no doubt   be able to give me some (me specific) advise.

On the positive my wee girl is perfect (she is breach and loves to give me lots of love ) and my family do try to do what they can for me - I am my own worst enemy hate to ask for help and like to do everything myself!

Baby shower this weekend!!! yippee ya I get to catch up with all my friends and family.

Rickers I am the same.
I get up at 7, get DH and DS of the work/school then I'm home to have breakfast then back to bed for 2 hours.
I find it gets me through the day after that. I just can't seem to get going in the mornings.
I am now on Iron tablets so that might help soon.

CindyP YEY for internet!!! I'd be lost without it.

I have another busy week coming up next week. Working on having a quiet remainder to this week. Bub is still laying traverse so I'm still getting pains. Thankfully they have eased up enough for me to cope with.
BH are getting stronger now and hurt a little. Today I had one put me off my feet for 5mins.
Is that normal? With DS they didn't hurt it was just tight for a few min then over it.
Oh well. At least bub is still in there. Thats the main thing.

I'm 27 weeks on Monday and thought it might be time to share belly photos.
Any idea if we can do that on here?

DH and I have not been out without DS for an Adult dinner. Ever.
So tonight we did.
DS is 5 so it's been a long time coming.
We also get to do it again in a few weeks.
I'm loving the time with DH. We don't get enough now days.
It's great to be able to make the most of it now with bub only 3 months away.

What will you miss most when bub comes?
I remember missing privacy. I didn't get any in the first 3 months after DS was born.

Buntingsmum - Woo Hoo! Great news on the GD test!!

Em - Glad to hear your tests all came out okay, too! Iron's easily dealt with... I'm often on iron tablets, regardless of pregnancy.    Thank you for your advice - I got my Smiley Belt today and it helps when I'm walking, but the sitting/rolling over at night is all pretty painful...

I'm a teacher and I was going to work until the end of the school year (so 8 1/2 more weeks) but I may have to talk to my midwife about possibly ending earlier/getting a note to cut down on playground duty etc. She's got a referral for me to go to a physio, so I'll start that next week.

I sit on a Swiss Ball at work because that's more comfortable than any chairs - my poor kids watched me kneeling/leaning up against my ball for a while today, as I watched them practise for assembly! They're lovely and very sympathetic, so that's really nice. Whoop whoop! My 2 hour glucose test was well within the norms. Diabetic nurse is really happy with me (they'd warned me I'd have a high chance of getting it at around 28 weeks). Also happy with my weight ..... I have to continue daily testing to keep an eye on things but I am SO STOKED that it's not here yet!

Auzzymum that is a good idea! We are planning on having a box for DS- mainly when i'm breastfeeding and he wants attention (special toys, some books, maybe a snack). My MIL suggested it as she said it really helped her.

Oh Canuckiwi SPD is, well, literally a pain in the ass. Sorry you are having so much pain with it. I have a smileybelt which helped me HEAPS with DS and I have just started wearing it this time around. I was never diagnosed with SPD per say, but did have extreme hip/sacroilliac pain with DS and its starting again now.
I am getting referred to a physio by my midwife as it helped last time- they have me a bunch of stretches etc to do (of which I've forgotten them all now) and I found yoga helps too.
How long do you have to go at work? Have you looked at the chair that you sit in (assuming you are at a desk?) Just a thought as maybe that might not be helping things?

My GD results and blood tests were fine... except my iron. the lower end of the range is 10 or 11 I think and mine was 6.1! eek! So off to get a prescription of iron tablets I go!

CindyP - miserable sod - need I say more - obviously one of those low life’s of society!

Auzzymum - great to hear the pains have settled for you - may he stay in you tum for the duration!

I haven't started our room yet - keep meaning to do it but then something else comes up. We were going to do it the weekend just gone, as life goes though one thing popped up after the other that needed dealing with. Perhaps this Sunday???? We have had our cot for a year and a half now and the shop that we purchased it from has gone bust so I have my fingers and toes crossed that it will come together without any hitch's.

Test results came back all clear. My scan went well love seeing my little girl. She is breach at the moment. Made me laugh I had said to my husband a couple of weeks ago "I feel like she is kicking me in the bum but know that isn't possible because her head is meant to be there" - lol when she was indeed kicking me in the bum.

Only 8.5 weeks left of work for me (41 actual working days). I had last week off - needed some rest. I hope I last the distance. 11 Weeks until baby is here - getting rather nervous on one hand and on the other I can't wait until we meet her!

Hello Ladies. Sorry I don't get in as much at the moment.
DS is back at school now so I should have more time.

Had my GD test yesterday. Buntingsmum I am trying not to bother the midwife for results also.
Bub was not moving for the rest of the day after the test so got me a bit worried as most of you have said bubs was very active after.

CindyP some people should not be let out of their houses. Stupid rude people.

So my pains have stopped the last few days. Looks like I am out of the danger zone for now. Thankfully bub has not turned. I'm not sure if he will later but I'm almost hoping not even if it means a c-sec.
Or if he does turn he can wait for at least another month.
I am 26 weeks on Monday. So another 10 weeks and I would be very happy.
I can't believe how close it's getting for us all.

I have resined myself to not getting a nursery again.
DH can't move to the garage as we had hoped. So I get half the room. Enough for the change table and cot. I am going to set up my BFing station in the lounge. My lazy boy is all ready I just need a table next to it for snacks and my water bottle.
The change table is all ready to go. Boxes under it. 1 for nappy changes, 1 for bath time and 1 for me. The 1 for me has breast pads, hand and nipple cream, magazines and snacks. I'm sure I'll add more to it.
DH suggested this so I can just ask him or DS to get me the box and they know they are getting what I need rather than having to find whatever it is.

I hope you are all going well and looking forward to the long weekend.

Hi ladies,

Just came back from doing a quick run to the warehouse to get bulbs as moving house this weekend. Wish I did not. I was driving down a one way and this guy decided to take a chance and come up it illegally. He then blocked my way as well as the cars behind me. He would not move and then decided to start verbally attacking me and then decided spitting at my car was appropriate. The guy behind me came out and came to my rescue and had an argument with this guy.

I left so angry and as I drove away my window was open and he spat in my face. Aaargh. Some people uurgh.

For those interested, The Egg Outlet is at 115 Khyber Pass road in Auckland city. Mon - Fri 10.00am -3pm. Sat 10.00am - 2pm. Definitely worth a look if you are in the area as some of their stuff is really cheap. They do have some outlet stuff online, but no where near as good as instore.

After a hard day of working in the garden- well actually watching hubby work and every now and then trying to be helpful, I am totally buggered.

Moving house on Saturday and the property manager is being a cow. She wants to inspect the house on friday at 11 which is before we move and wants the keys on Saturday at 1. Talk about being a pain.

JFL - I hope the scan went well for you. I have my 2 hour diabetes test tomorrow. You do a 1 hour polycose test as a screeneing test -if you 'fail' that you have to do the 2 hour one. Because I had GD last time I have to do the 2 hour one straight up. I think I buy myself a book and enjoy the quiet (I am not allowed to leave the path lab building).

Auzzymum - thanks for the offer the sites for cloting - always great to know - I need some tops - think I've got the bottoms sorted now. If you could pm me them that's be great. I hope you little man is still lying transverse!

Anyway..........Its a Girl!!! 29 weeks tomorrow and it feels like we have waited for ever. We have one of each already so no matter really but I was secretly thinking pink, I sooooo love to play dolly-dress-ups DH believes his wallet will be happier as we have girls stuff from our 4 yr old DD but he is just deluded, bless him...

We had a 4D scan and we could see that she has her sisters' cute little mouth and nose.

Someone was talking about a private forum, its not on this website but via your fb page. Just send a 'friend request' to Rayon de Soleil (also known as Hannie) with a short message saying you are from this forum and she will accept you. You will then be on our 'Due in Jan 2013' private chat group. Scan tomorrow yeah Super excited.

My wee girl has been very active I swear it's felt like she has been having a dance party in there the last couple of days.

Funny isn't it! I worry when I don't get alot of movement now Im worried Im getting too much movement!

Had the test today to check for gestational diabetes results should be through tomorrow for when I see the doctor. I read that the test could take two hours thank fully I was there a total of 1 hour and 10 mins so not too bad.

Sorry I should have posted the Ice water trick here rather than pm it.
I thought it was a well known trick.
My midwife told me when I am having a busy day and don't think I have felt anything just drink an icy or really cold drink then lay on the couch or in bed for a hour. Sure fire way to wake up a sleeping bub and reassure a worried mummy.

Buntingsmum- I have the same problem with clothes. All online for me.
I can give you a list of the shops I have used this time around if you like. I'm a cheapy so go for the sale items or cheaper sites like ebay
