Had a little bit of spotting yesterday arvo but didn't freak out. It's easier when you know there's an explanation. With all the Drs & specialists I've seen over the years I'm used to hearing "there's no reason for this is just one of those things" Husband laughed at my bloated gut the other night. I looked 6 months pregnant!!

Hi all! We just found out last week we are expecting our first baby September 5th! Very exciting but nervous as im from the US with no family here. Has any other first time mothers had a hard time finding a midwife? The handful of people i've contacted so far are booked.

Hi, I just did a home test in the weekend and it was positive. I'm swinging between freaked out and overjoyed. This was an accident but I've been conscious of the biological clock for a few years - I'm 38 now. Boyfriend is freaked out, hasn't said much. According to the online calculator I'm due 28 September. I've made a doctor appointment but it's not for another few days. Please, any tips on what to do/not do before I see the doc? I went straight out and bought Solgar Prenatal Nutrients and have stopped coffee, alcohol, soft cheese, hummus, fish. I'm also a bit scared as I have a few wines on Saturday before I realised I was late and took the test on Sunday. Thoughts and advice please...

Hello,
Don't panic! You've done all the right things :-) Be kind to yourself, rest as much as you can etc etc. Oh and as well as the usual avoiding alcohol, foods etc stuff that you sound like you already know, apparently you should avoid super hot baths, saunas, spas etc. I cant remember the reasoning why though. Oh and I hope your boyfriend gets his head straight asap too :-)

Thanks so much Smurfling and KPMW, I think I just needed some reassurance as I haven't spoken to anyone whose had a baby about these details.
KPMW, exciting we're due on the same day!
I would like to join this FB group but I couldn't find 2furkids in a search - any other hints?

Hey everyone. I found out... maybe 2 weeks ago that we're pregnant. It will be our first child. We're due 17th September according to the online calculator :) The nausea and vomiting is hellish already, can barely sleep at night, super moody, pins and needles kinda feeling in my boobs. This is gonna be a long pregnancy. I would love to join the facebook group but don't know if everyone would be okay with that since I don't have facebook, I just use my partners account.

Congrats to everyone who come on board since I last posted. LOL very hard to keep up!!
I'm not on the Facebook one either Charlotte. So we can hang here ☺
Specialist ordered a scan. Thought I was done with him after my surgery follow up but apparently not. Wasn't going to say no to another scan. Have still been spotting as well. So we saw a perfect much bigger bean today. 167BPM heart rate & perfect growth for my dates. Very reassuring. Although the nausea and exhaustion is almost enough to keep me feeling positive about this pregnancy. The lady's face when she asked what pregnancy this was & I said 8! She complemented my flatish tummy & said she wished she looked like that after 7 kids. I nearly choked & corrected that I've got just the one actual baby.
