Topic: Stains from storage?Posted: 12 August 2008 at 9:22am |

Decided it was time to drag out all the baby clothes to see what there is and what I still need, but there are a lot of yellow stains on everything light coloured. They were clean when I put them away, what causes these stains, and more importantly, will they come out?

I soaked all my stored stuff in napisan for a couple of hours then washed it and it all came out like new.

Ditto! I opened mine last week and was gutted that all my gorgeous wee white clothes had yellow stains on them. I had washed them and packed them up really well I thought but Mum thinks it is the acid (or whatever) in baby sick that can do it.
The good news is that mine have been washed and look like new again! Mum helped me (she is a star washer!) and made a paste with nappi san oxiaction and put on the stains. Then washed them with nappisan. They look really good.
Am sure yours will come out too. |

Have heard if you store baby clothes in plastic bags and they don't have air going round them thats when the stains come out. Don't know if its true or not though. I stored Leahs stuff in a big bag I got from the warehouse that is fabric and has netting at the ends, was really cheap too. (no stains here) |

Milk stains baby sick stains - they go away clean, but the storage like the above poster said is what happens. Will come out inthe wash!

A bit of napisan and hanging in the sun should fix it.
Wrapping in blue tissue paper apparently also preserves clothing. That's how mum stores our christening gown. |
