How has everyone's day been? I got my first dose of fatigue today. Spent the morning with Seth at playcentre then did a couple of errands and got home around 1pm incredibly tired. Guess it's going to be a lot different this time round having a toddler to look after :) think I may have evening sickness. Just slight nausea but I pretty much had none with Seth so not sure if it is or not.

Got some Ellivit at the chemist...way too expensive. I've been told that as long as I get a prescription for folic acid supplements from my doctor it's ok just to use Blackmores Pregnancy Gold etc so much cheaper! I got a box of Ellivit anyway. Not sure when I can get to the doc. Hope everyone has a lovely day tomorrow :)

Hi Sharlene,

I was sooo tired yesterday I was in bed AND asleep by 9.30!
I can't imagine what it would be like looking after a little one too, I had a half day at work!
I am feeling sick all day but am yet to actually be sick (thank goodness).
Good luck today and hope the sickness holds off for you. It's not even 7am and I'm already dreading having to eat :(

oh and yes, we paid $92 for elevit...and it's only for 3 months!!! Grrr

Morning,
Sharlene, I am the same just feeling even more tired then usual so far.
Elevit is stupidly expensive. I went to my doc yesterday and told him of my positive pregnany test and he gave me a script for folic acid which cost me $3 to fill.
I will be going for some antenatal bloods today once I drop the girls at kindy.
Jacobsmummy - Yes they were hard work as newborns but we had LOTS of help from family, friends and we also trialed a nanny for a couple of months but it didn't work out. I had my mum live here til they were 8months old! But now I just don't know any different, we have a very cruisy routine that works for us all and it only took us 3yrs! now we're going to throw it all out by adding another baby in to the mix!

Hope everyone has a lovely day,
catch you all tonigt

Shelly

Hi all!
1st time mumma, Seth is a really cruisey boy thank goodness so its not too hard, that's at the moment though. When I eventually have to ask DH to do more things around the house that's going to be annoying. He's very supportive but I'm just used to doing everything my own way I guess!

Minti, I woke up feeling very refreshed this morning which is nice considering I am getting the worst sleeps ever at the moment! I've had to reduce my coffee intake drastically, I've gone from having four cups of instant before becoming pregnant, to one in the space of two days. I could have gone cold turkey but a massive headache didn't sound all that appealing!

I have my first appointment with my MW on the 13th, I'm actually really excited to see her again as she was my mw with Seth. She was so lovely and has agreed to be my mw even though we live in a different zone now which is so great!

The weather could be a bit nicer but oh well, the fire is on :P

Hi ladies

Boo to fatigue and ms!  But I guess both are reassuring and means bubs is growing nicely

OH gosh don't buy Elevit from pharmacy's, buy online if you really want it.  I purchased a pack of 100's back in Dec online and saved over $20 off what they sell for in the shops!  Delivery took about 3 days too from NZ.  I just googled elevit and looked at the diff websites and went with the cheapest

I'm impatiently waiting to call my Dr's this morning to get the results from my hcg yesterday (Labtests said they'd be ready in the morning).  I'm really hoping they're within the 'normal' range.

Rosie I forgot to mention yesterday (yup preggy brain must be kicking in), that's a nice big age gap, means you'll only have one bub to look after really  oh and at least you'll potentially have lots of babysitting on hand, hehe.

Can I be added to the list please....

Very excited, although holding my breath at the same time due to having had 2 m/c already....

I'm due on the 11th Jan, it's my first, it will be a surprise.

I did my HCG and antenatal bloods yesterday, and I am also waiting impatiently!!!!!

KarenMae, I just called my Doc's and got my results - give yours a call, maybe they'll be in too.  My hcg level is 490 - I'm happy with that as the first one as with my DS the result was about 370'ish and I only had the one back then

Dr said she will call me Thursday night with the results - won't be a full 2 days as the last one was done at lunchtime, but here is hoping that it's going up as it should!!!!

Jacobsmumma - hehe, at baby brain - my SIL's are having a entertaining time, listening and watching me do baby brain stuff. I didnt notice it till they said something. One was milking for me, after our transfer, and when we told her our positive news, she reckoned it had worked this time, as I had misplaced something I use everyday, and a couple of other things - ohhh hahaha, pleased someone thinks it funny. I keep banging into stuff with my feet too.

My DS doesnt live with me - he is in the big wide world of Dunedin at polytech, but was so stoked when I told him our news. But his 1st question was "when do we find out if its twins?", eeekkk. Told him if that happens he will have to come and visit his mum more often .

That's awesome news KarenMae, and well within the guidelines I found online  I've got my follow up hcg on Friday (Doc said she'll be working Sat so I can get the results) then the final one on Monday.  FX we both have good rises xx

OMG chance of twins, wowsers.  Did they transfer two fertilised eggs Rosie?  (of course you don't need to answer if you think I'm being too nosey).  What were yourr first hcg results?  Did they seem really high, could indicate twinnies

Yeah - I'm pretty stoked with the numbers!!!

Doctor put me on progesterone yesterday as well, plus for the last month I've been on baby asprin, so hopefully that helps the little one stick!!!

Now it's just a waiting game again.....

I've decided to go with a specialist for my pregnancy, so once the second results are in, I'm going to see my Doc again for more HCG BT forms (am ideally wanting to do one every 2-3 days until 7 weeks due to my history). DR also mentioned that she wants to put me on Iodine, and then I'll call the specialist and make my first appt...

They only put one embie in . But we have lots of twins on both sides of our families. My HCG's were 70 1st time and 372 2nd time (so not too high), nurses are happy with that, and dont need to do any more and I am allowed to reduce my progesterone pessaries this week, and stop them next week.

KarenMae your HCG's sound good.

Your number sound good also Rosie!!!!

As my doctor took GREAT pains to tell me.... it's not what the number is... it's how it increases, and if the nurses are happy.... then yay!!!!

Yeah my mw also said its not what the numbers are now, its how much they increase.  I'd like to think that cause this lot is higher than it was with DS, that its a good sign.

Why do you need to take progesterone KM and Rosie?  Sorry I'm not very clued up

KM, yup I had very very dull slight cramps but they have gone now.  I remember having these with DS and my mw said it was normal.  I didn't have them last pg tho (again I'm prob just looking for good signs ).  This pregnancy feels so much different to my last so that has to be good right?

My doc gave me a scan form and said to go ahead and book a dating scan after the 15th.  That would put me around 6weeks or just over.  I'm kinda thinking maybe I should wait a week just incase.

Definately agree it's a good sign - better to be higher than lower

Progesterone is because of the recurrent miscarriages... sometimes the cause of miscarriages is that your progesterone level drops too soon, or stays low.... low progesterone causes spotting and also brings on your AF.... so it COULD be in my case that the two I lost were perfectly fine, but my body just had a normal period due to low progesterone, so I lost them... but it's not always the case, but we are at least crossing that off the list!!! Progesterone also maintains the quality of the uterus lining and keeps it nice and healthy. I take the asprin to thin my blood thereby making implantation easier for the egg.

I have had dull slight cramps, but they come and go - don't think I've had any at all today.... have had a couple of times where it felt like OV pains - like someone poking me, but that has stopped also.... maybe after losing two I just become hypersensitive to any 'feelings'.

Glad this one feels different - I definately think that's a good sign!!!

Personally I think I would wait till 7 weeks for the scan, as they you are almost guaranteed to see the heartbeat.... at 6 you still might though!!!! Up to you....

Also BecsandMonkey in Due December thread had a 6w2d scan and saw heartbeat, but it was only 108bpm. That is low. But she had another at 7w0d and it was 140bpm. Perfect. Could be low as it was very early....

Just be prepared if you have the scan at 6 weeks that you might not see a heartbeat (and don't freak if you don't) or it might be slow (but is probably just winding up)

I want a scan every week!!!!! That would be nice

Edited for spelling
