I really need to check out the jeans there, they sound really good.
Just wondering are any of you getting ligament pain? Is yours really painful? Mine's really bad and uncomfortable I was just wondering if this is normal for everyone? It's my first any so I don't really know what to expect. My ob said its normal so I feel silly calling again so just started taking paracetamol today and thought I'd check with all of you to see if you've been getting the same thing and what's helped you.

Hi all, sorry for being a bit absent! So I went to meet the midwife, and she was 'ok'. I didn't feel I really clicked with her. Talking to my workmate (who knows about the pregnancy) afterwards and it turns out he and his wife had her as their LMC for their last baby just born in Sept last year and they felt the same, she was adequate, did what she needed to do, filled in the forms, but wasn't fab. So I asked if my GP was able to be my LMC and she can't so I'm going to look for another MW. I feel a bit rubbish shopping around (as I have quite strong loyalties) but I know this is a big thing. She said 11 weeks was too early for the doppler too

Anyone wanting an invite to the FB group PM me with your full email address

Re homebirth: I haven't spoken to anyone specifically, but a girl I was friends with in intermediate had a homebirth in Tasmania, in primitive conditions ie no power (she lives a bit like a hippy) assuming everything was ok, her mother told my father the story. I have no opinion really as I know nothing about birth at all lol (after from it looks intense!!)

I haven't had ligament pain, but have a recurring sore muscle in my right bum cheek, very odd! My yoga instructor gave me an exercise to do with a tennis ball - looks very weird, hubby made sure to mention that

What else is happening with everyone?

Oh that's a shame about your midwife kalika, don't feel bad trying a few out, it's so so important to have one you feel happy and comfortable with. I love my midwife, actually had a bit of a freak out when I got pregnant and had the thought that I might not be able to have her again because we've shifted and I told my husband to ring her and beg her to be my midwife! He wouldn't and luckily I didn't have to beg totally would've though!
I'd been wondering if you had got to hear the heartbeat, maybe it was better that you didn't have to make the decision?

I've been getting pain in my lower back, mainly when I wake up if I've been sleeping on my back, goes away within an hour or so mostly though. Was almost too intense to cope with by the end of my scan though, was actually glad when it was over.

Hi all :)
I'm quite new to this - due with my first, Sep 3rd and over the moon!
We found out Christmas day and couldn't keep the secret between our familys very long and let it out midnight new years.
Touch wood, i'v had the morning sickness and it's passed which is great.
I did have a few tears last night when i looked in the mirror and my belly button had started to disappear. Brought me down to earth and i had quite of a shock that i'm pregnant - even though we have had our 12week scan and saw our little bundle :D. Is anyone else's belly button disappearing ? :p

I'm wondering if anyone on here lives in west auckland and has booked into any anti natal classes - or could recommend one. I'm quite nervous about booking into one due to doing them alone as my partner travels for two weeks and is only back 6 days in a month.

Also if anyone could recommend someone to help with back pain, lately i have been getting sharp pains in my lower right hip/back area. i'm not too sure where to start looking, either it be a chiropractor physio or something total different.

Loveeee the idea of this forum and sharing experiences :)

Congrats to all the other mums/mums to be for Sep2013 :D excited for this wonderful journey.

I get the odd bit of ligament pain but nothing to bad.

Bummer about the mw Kalika. But yeah I would try and call a few others too. I called two last time and ended up using the second one. During the pregnancy I always thought she was ok but nothing special and that I probably would not use her again next time around. During the birth however she was fabulous so I called her immediately after finding out this time!
I don't really click with her as such but then I am not looking for a best friend, I just want somebody who get my baby safely into the world.

Another stunning day here today and I have energy yay!!! Doing washing and housework and am off to the hairdressers now. 13 weeks today so hopefully I'm over the worst now.

Here we go again, another baby on it's way!

Hi Krystal
Welcome and congrats.
I'm in west Auckland too and was suggested to do an antenatal through Mama Maternity, they have 3 locations in West Auckland and lots of other locations across Auckland too. I'm due to call them tomorrow about the classes and get an idea of when is best to go for me too. My partner works crazy hours and isn't normally home till after 7 and the classes we are looking at run 7-9pm.

I also have a friend of a friend who is in the Mt Albert/ St Lukes area who is a chiropractor who specializes in pregnancy and infant chiropractic. I will get her phone number for you.

Hi Krystal, I didn't see your post yesterday. I am also in West Auckland and we did our AN classes through the West Aucklands Parents Centre.

You can also do AN classes that run over one weekend which may be more suitable for you guys?

Sorry I can't help with the back pain but I know lots of people who have or are doing pregnancy yoga which can help.

My belly button got shallower and shallower and then just vanished last time too but didn't show till quite late last time and think it will be the same this time around.

Thanks for letting me know bout the pain, mine ended up possibly being an ovarian cyst ended up having to get an impromptu check up at auckland hospital to see what's causing the pain. Was a relief to see baby and know bubs was ok , but now hoping the cyst decides to disappear soon.
I'm like west/central auckland, I just called birthcare last Thursday and signed up for classes in three kings beginning July 1st. I think the place is called Mother well.

Does anyone else find it very frustrating to post in Ohbaby? I'll read, decide I want to reply to something, then it won't let me. I have to log out and log in again, then find the forum and where I was up to, by which time I often can't be bothered posting, and can't remember what I was going to say anyway!

Okay, rant over. :)

I've considered home birth. Part of me thinks its a great idea, part of me likes the idea of lovely meals cooked for me :) Will have to think about it more closer to the time.

That doesn't sound very comfortable, Ditto! Hope it all settles down for you soon.

No problems here with logging in, but I did have problems with it when they upgraded the forum. Maybe pm skiltz and he should be able to help you.

Packing tonight, off to Germany tomorrow. No idea why I thought it was a good idea to book flights at this time of the year. I am currently packing winter coats while I'm sweating like a pig...

Have a good trip Sem!! I would actually love a bit of winter right now so I'm a bit lil jealous
I'm so over living in this dust cloud, we got our front lawn leveled just as the water shortage started so can't grow any grass until we are allowed to water it -but that's fine, it's just hard dirt. But we are filling in a gully and leveling out the back so there are usually at least 20 trucks a week driving around out the back so the ground is just really fine dust, it's so disgusting! When it's windy the wind is brown and it covers everything so over it, bring on winter, and rain please!!
Wow that was a big whinge, ignore it!

I used to have heaps of trouble even just logging in to the ohbaby website, would drive me absolutely mental. Think I emailed them and they fixed something and also told me to clear my cookies and its been no trouble since. Maybe try that?

How is everyone else doing? Good luck for your scan kalika it's this week huh?

Hi, hope everyone and their little bumps is doing well and coping ok with the real summer heat....at least the sea is quite warm to cool down:-)

Im still "patiently" avaiting my next weeks scan appointement... still bit nauseus in the evenings, and now my varicous veins came up again...
I ve always had one already since early childhood (hereditory from mum, and grandma)... and now 2 new popped out and got bit more pronounced...and my legs feel tired quickly.
Must be the increasing blood volume.... in my prev. pregnancies i wore compression stockings which are awsome.... but it s just too hot to be wearing these now ...so i m starting to be quite keen on autumn:-)

Cupcake, it s sound so annoying all the dust cloud around your house! Hope it rains soon!!!
Even here its so dry that cracks that opened in our year are wide enough for me to fit whole my hand in it. Havent seen it this dry before...

I have had trouble logging in the past few days too - here's hoping it'll come right itself.

Thank you so much Tui Good ! I'll contact her later today to discuss- I'm excited for this pain to go.

I've heard mama maternity are quite good although it's a great idea to find one over the weekend so am on the search now :)

Cupcake, that sounds horrible - i hope you get rain soon. Hopefully we are now on the downwards spiral to winter.

I have an app that says my bub is the size of an apple today - i find the apps so wonderful to watch each day. I feel it makes me closer to the baby knowing whats developing day by day.

Haha thanks guys, I really hope it rains soon, somedays I can't even hang washing cos of the dust. And it looks like we live in the middle of a desert! Rain doesn't look too likely though...

What week are you Krystal? I'm at 14w 4d, my midwife said I might start feeling flutters around 15wks, I'm so hoping so! I love reading the weekly updates though :) last week apparently bubba would have doubled his/her weight, crazy how fast they grow but still 9mths seems like forever when you're waiting!

Cupcake, where are you living? it sounds less than ideal.

I'm 15weeks today :) Soooo excited for these "flutters" to start :) 6months is def a long time to wait but a decent time to plan the next 18years :p

The past few days i have had people from work comment on my "glow" - i love the upsides of pregnancy. If only the positives would stick around well after.

How is everyone else ? Any changes/feelings yet ?

Tui good, how did you get on with mama maternity ? I found alot of their weekend classes booked up until August. I'm yet to contact Jody- i have been super busy. Does she have a website?

I just rang Mama Maternity on Monday and they signed me up for a Monday evening class thats not even on there website yet, runs for 6 weeks from early July to mid-August. I know they have a few weekend ones but they do charge for them so we decided Monday evening would work for us even if my partner is a few minutes late to some.

When I spoke to them yesterday they did say they are having major IT problems at the moment but should be fully up & running again by tomorrow.

I'm not sure if Jody has a webpage, I dont think she does. I only know her through playing softball and she always helps my friend who has back problems. I know she specialises in the maternity/family side of things as I was doing up some new logo designs for her but then I had to have surgery on my shoulder and they never went anywhere, I should see if she wants to rehatch those.

I cant wait for the flutters and even our first sonogram, I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and seeing all the other September mom's who are due easrly September makes me pretty excited for whats to come. I've started to have less of the MS but it really depends on how much and what I eat. Still finding the right balance of what will leave me & the hormones in a happy place.

Hey ladies!

I have been horrible at keeping up with this, getting way too distracted with the Facebook page lol. But it's been great reading through all the posts and seeing all the new members on here :)
Everything has been going great, have had my NT scan and it was awesome seeing my little bubs finally! Sucks that the next one isn't until 20 weeks though.. :(
Only annoying thing is that the scan gave me a different due date compared to the one that my midwife gave me :/
How is everyone going? :)

I live in a small Waikato town Krystal, only reason it's so bad here though is its a new house and we only moved in a few months ago so we never had grass in the first place and all the trucks turn our dirt into dust. Not everyone around here is surrounded by dirt like us! They've all just got ugly brown grass we'll get there eventually...
Wish I had a pregnant glow, I got bad skin instead!
Good luck with your scan Tui Good
When I was at my scan the lady said my dates were all good but then when I saw my midwife she said the results said baby was ahead 5days but they only change the dates if its +/- 7days or more so my dates don't change, weird. Hopefully I don't end up with a baby who is 10 days late this time then because it would really be 15....
