Hi, our darling boy was born with hypospadias, and it is on the severe side of the spectrum.

He can pee fine and is otherwise healthy and happy. He is 9 months old.

We had our first appointment with a nurse yesterday and were not told too much detail, other than that he will need about 3 surgeries including a skin graft to correct.

We will be contacted by the hospital again in about 6 months for an appointment with the surgeon. I understand that we have to wait as he is still quite young to be operated on, but it is hard.

I was wondering if anyone else has any experience with dealing with hypospadias, particulary if it was quite a severe case.

From what I read, it is relatively common, 1 in 300 boys, but our boy has it quite bad, so I worry about him and his future.

Would be nice to know if anyone has come out of it happy, as I read too much on line and I get quite sad thinking about worse case scenarios.

Cheers.
