Josh used to be a great sleeper. He would go to sleep after we dropped Andrew off at preschool and then after lunch he would have another good sleep and then sleep right through the night. Now he won't sleep at all during the day. I can't get anything done as he either has to be held by me or feeding off me if he isn't doing either he is crying. He won't eat solids (I struggle to get 1/2 a jar into him at dinnertime anyother time and he isn't interested) so I don't think he is gettng a full tummy everytime after feeding from me. I have tried to just let him CIO, but after 2 hours yesterday DH went in and picked him up and took him for a walk. I seriously need him to get some sleep during the day as I have assignments due next week and I have only started 1 of them. Any suggestions???

ETA: I took him to the Dr on Friday and there isn't anything wrong with him only the flu, but you would think if he was sick he would sleep.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I wish I had a suggestion for you but am not really sure sorry. Just wanted to say hang in there! Hopefully once his flu is gone his sleeping will improve. I know Oliver never sleeps well when he has a cold - even though I also always think he should.
Is there someone who can take him for a walk for an hour during the week so you can do your assignments?

Oooh that sux, Becks.  Ella doesn't sleep well when she's got a cold or flu either.  Since he's being a little snuggle-monkey, would a sling help at all?  Hard to do your assignments like that, but I was thinking more for housework or whatever.  Seems they know when we're already run down and they just go to town, don't they?!

front pack maybe? He is probably too big for that though I guess. Whenever Jeremy is going through a week of not sleeping I pop him in the front pack and even if he doesn't sleep, he is settled and I have 2 arms free to get a few things done
Hopefully Josh will sleep for you again soon before you pull out all of your hair

Was just thinking would it work to take him for a walk to get him off to sleep and then bring him inside in the pram while you do some work?
I know some babies wake up as soon as the walking stops so it may not work....

maybe he's teething? i'm sure you're already doing it but is he having regular pamol?

charli doesn't sleep much during the day now either and it makes it so much harder to get anything done   hang in there hun

Gina does not sleep much either during the day. We have found different activities for her to do so I can still work (I work from home) while she's around and keeping herself happy. She loves her exersaucer, kicking in her baby gym and also rolling on the ground. She can also sit (in her rocker) and play with a handful of toys for 1/2 hour or so. I have also discovered that a nice long walk will generally put her to sleep for an hour or so - but it does involve going for an hour walk first
Good luck

ella will wear herself out in the jumperoo or exersaucer and then go for a sleep....maybe you can wear him out somehow? and then he might go down...

otherwise can you ask someone to look after him for you perhps?

hope you get a break soon!
