Up there that's messing with me, you better quit it right now. I have had enough. I have cussed and sworn and blamed Murphy and ranted about how when it rains it pours, and then it's a freaking hurricane, but the novelty has worn off and I am OVER it, do you hear me? O V E R!
The gremlins have chicken pox. Yes both gremlins. Yes Maya did have chicken pox. The INfluenza H was a secondary bacterial infection in the spots which by the way has now turned into impetigo.
Which means that poor Isla and James were exposed when Maya was contagious. And poor Toby was exposed yesterday when the gremlins were contagious. Hallay-bloody-luyah! Ain't that just marvellous!
So the grommets surgery gets postponed. And the trip to Hamilton gets postponed (unless of course you Hamilton mums *want* your kiddies to get chicken pox in which case we are so there! *rolls eyes*).
So Mr Man upstairs or whoever it is that's calling the shots, (and it's gotta be a man coz if it was a woman she would totally be better organised!) quit messing with me! I've had more than enough of my fair share this year. Now I deserve to win lotto, or at the very least just have one whole month where I don't have to visit the doctor once, not at all, for anything. And where one or more sodding electrical appliances doesn't die on me.
Signed: One very cross and sleep deprived Mummy!
PS. If it's not too much to ask, can we pretty please have some nice weather this weekend so I can at least get out of the house for a walk? Go on, you know you owe me!

Aaah no Emma. I would have offer to help babysit and give you some much needed sleep but I havent had chicken pox yet. You can have my hubby for a while but I am sure the guys will end up doing other stuff and not look after kiddies. (naah hubby is actually really good.)

Oh dear!
Life just isn't fair and you are well overdue for a break from the cr@pstorm!
Hope the Gremlins don't have too rough a time of it and you don't either. Let me know if you need a break, I don't mind if my two get spotty, seriously.

Poor you that does suck. Maybe you should buy yourself a Lotto ticket, with this much bad luck - something is bound to go right.
Poor Maya impetigo is not nice.

Sure! We'll have a pox party!
I'm crossing my fingers coz I expected them to wake up this morning absolutely covered in spots, but they didn't, they only have a few each. And Maya seemed to have quite a mild dose. So I'm hoping that we get off so lightly with the gremlins. And so far they're happy enough and don't seem itchy/agitated. Here's hoping!

Fingers crossed for you Emma! Unfortunately my sisters twins got the pox when they were 18 months ish and only had a mild dose and then got them again when they were 3! Apparently if they only get them mildly they can get them again

Definately agree with KH25 here! I got them when I was 5, quite a mild dose, then both DH and I got them about 3 years ago really badly, we were so ill!!
So you can definately get them twice
Poor you Emma and you have had such a long week too. Hugs to you!

Well no sunshine, but no rain either so I got a walk in. Just as well coz I was fair about to go mad, Maya spent the morning making my clean washing into 'piles' for her toys, and then stupid Metrowater turned the water off in our area so I couldn't even get started on the mountain of dirty washing that has built up while I've been working like a demon this week.
Enjoyed the walk, great stress relief!
