My MW thinks I may have one and that certainly acounts for the feeling of "its all falling out" that I have and it was bloody sore after she did an internal.

So does it mean lots and lots of pelvic floor exercises?

Anyone been through this?

I think my paternal grandmother had this and she did her Kegel exercises (told me about those from very early age) and avoided lifting anything too heavy, she also are a lot of fruit to avoid constipation. Sorry don't know much more than that - I was too young at that stage so there may have been other things she would have done.
Did your m/w recommend anything?

I think they can fix it up, but usually don't do anything about it while you are still having kiddies so usually recommend you get your kids outta the way and then they'll go in and tidy things up a bit.

Just trawling through my nursing texts, Nikki, and found one that states...

"If the structures that support the uterus weaken (typically from childbirth), the uterus may work its way down the vaginal canal (prolapse) and even appear outside the vaginal orifice (extreme cases)...Symptoms include pressure and urinary problems from displacement of the bladder. The woman with such symptoms is encouraged to seek medical advice."

It sounds like your pelvic floor exercises are paramount at the moment, otherwise, surgery is the next option (and believe me, it aint a nice surgery to be having )

I'm sucking up those pelvic floor muscles as we speak!!! The MW thinks it is due to the rapid birth I had with the ventouse...oh the joys of being a woman! I was kinda hoping someone else may have been through it.

My friend had one. She had her second baby 14 months after her first so she could have the op to fix it up. I can say after she recovered from the op she told me that she was so glad she had it done.

I think Annie might have mentioned something about a prolapsed uterus?? She might be able to give you some more info.

I'm quite keen on the pelvic floor exercise ball thingys (sometimes used for other purposes ) that Helen has just got in at http://www.redrag.co.nz/node/185 - Red Rag - Pelvic floor toners

I'm saving up! Worthwhile investment I say!!
