DF had/has asthma from when he was a baby, and can get set off by cats. Doesn't stop him wanting them, its usually with long haired cats, and ones he's not used to being around.
Do you have a cat at home?

I was just about to say that too fleur. When we had a cat and i was around constantly over time i got used to him but not to others. (i think with cat allergys it can be actually something in their saliva when they wash themselves that obviously gets on the fur). However when he was a kitten and scratched me, whoa, the scratches would puff up huge! Now that we have no kitty, i have to make sure that if i do touch an animal i have to thoroughly wash my hands with soap and water really well straight away, otherwise if i so much as touch my face or anything the allergies kick it realll quick.

Maybe keep exposure short and sweet an teach im to wash hands straight away and not touch his face or anything like that.

Poor James. Because he has asthma and eczema he is unfortunately one of those people who is going to be sensitive to all sorts of things. Here is a link to the allergy nz website page about cat allergies...

Hey Lu, I've been thinking about James this morning. How is his eczema? If he has an environmental allergy like cat, he could also be allergic to dust causing his eczema. Just a thought anyway.

Oh that sux that they won't test him until he's 3.  I'm going to have Ella's Paed up about not having her tests done yet when I know dam well they could have by now... waiting until 3 years old seems a long wait - you gona ask they do some tests earlier?
