and what do you think of them?

We had the guy over last night as we are about to re-fix our home loan and borrow some more against the equity, or refinance with these guys.

Paying off your loan sooner, paying less interest AND still being able to borrow $25k. It all seems too good to be true!

We do, my DH signed up just before meeting me. It seems to work well for us - the revolving credit accounts are great, and it has meant that we have been able to pay off more of our loan over the last few years, but now have some leeway with bubs on the way and me not working...

But we don't do everything that they want us to - so in theory would save even more if we did - paying everything with credit card etc

Last time we purchased a home we went through a mortgage broker. They are good cause they are free and offer unbiased advice. If I were you I'd take what you've got to them and see if it can be beaten

A friend of ours is building and has used NZ Home Loans, the revolving credit thing is so not a good idea unless you are good at budgeting as he has found out. But that applies to a lot of companies, not just NZ Home Loans. I've heard good things about them. I preferred to go through a mortgage broker though as we ended up getting a better deal and I didn't want DH to get tempted into revolving credit and paying for everything with a credit card.

we pay for everything on the credit card and then pay that all off at the end of the month anyways so it wouldn't be anything new to us, and the rates they are offering us work out the same as BNZ too, but BNZ haven't offered to help us with paying off our total loan 5 years earlier and weren't very forthcoming with other options to help us save money (which I'm not at all surprised about! lol).

So I guess it's just the same as any loan and you just have to be strict with yourself with your budget. That's what I liked the most about NZ Home Loans, they help you with your budget to make sure you can afford repayments without living on mince and sausages lol
