I was posting my rant in the Dec mums2b thread, but thought I'd see what other's experiences were.

I bought some Egg Jeans last week and the lady said that although I was between sizes, if the smaller size felt more comfortable, I should go with those as they would give (the smaller size is QUITE firm, but the bigger size was quite loose).

Well the elastic inside the black casing keeps folding over and I can't seem to fix it no matter what I do. I rang the lady at the shop who said they'd never had any comments about them, but it's really irked me. They were fine in the shop but they haven't stretched yet (despite my efforts ) and every time I move (ie. bend down, get up) the elastic just folds in half. Either she told me to get a size that was obviously too small for me (although they would fit fine if the elastic didn't fold) or they're faulty.

Has anyone else had problems with Egg Jeans doing this? I got them after a friend recommended them but I don't think she had this particular style (I think they're the boyfriend jeans?)

Need some ammo of other people's experiences so I can take them back to the shop and complain next week. I just find it really annoying because I can't afford another pair and I doubt they'll refund me seeing as I've worn them a few times.

Is the elastic buttonhole? I haven't had any Egg pants but I did have some other ones with buttonhole elastic through and they kept folding.

No its not buttonhole and yep I had the same problem!
It drove me crazy when my tummy was smaller but when I popped out properly I actually found it more comfortable to wear the elastic folded down under my bump anyway.
It did give as I grew as well.
If you're not happy though, I'd go back and get store credit or a refund if you can. You bought them to wear now, on the advice of one of their assistants and they're not doing what she said they would. I think you've got a fair complaint chick, good luck!

I think I have the same style and yeah had the same problem - the elastic kept folding. I too bought the smaller of 2 sizes on advice but then they fit everywhere else just around middle it was more snug. I found as I grew the elastic was always folded down and it was quite uncomfortable until I was so round that it didn't bother cause all my pants were sitting weirdly.
Definitely go back and discuss what's happened!

Heres my comments from the Dec thread too Emz, although you've probably already read them!

Hey Emz I have some jeans from Egg too and they do stretch in the legs and the bum but not at all in the waist.

I find that I cannot wear them for very long as the waist band digs into my tummy and pushes the baby up so high that my ribs hurt so much and I end up really uncomfy. I am quite disappointed actually as I love my Egg jeans, but they just don't work for me now

Hopefully I will get some wear out of them after the baby, cause they cost me a fortune!!

Are they the ones that just have the elastic bit at the front? Number nine jeans or something like that? If so I have these and the elastic folds up in the front all the time. But in saying that it doesn't bother me that much. It was okay when my bump was smaller but they do it a lot more now. I still find them really comfy and realy like them.

But, if they are not what you thought they were going to be and you want to take them back surely they should do this for you? Especially as the the shop assistant gave you advice about them. Maybe check what your rights are as a consumer. consumer affairs maybe worth a try? I'm not sure if thats the right place or not??
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Interesting to see a lot of people have the same problem! I think I'm just going to have to be brave and ask for a store credit and try on another pair, I feel bad cos I only tried on that pair, but they were comfy enough until I actually wore them and bent down etc and couldn't fix the elastic.

I'll let you know how I go once I finally get the courage to go and talk to them about it!

Be brave Emz! Those jeans aren't cheap and you deserve to get a pair you can wear comfortably.

I bought a pair of the cargo pants and have the same problem with the elastic folding inside the black band. Perhaps not good design or maybe they can sew the elastic into the top of the pants?? It does get quite uncomfortable and a little embarrassing when trying to readjust the elastic in public.
Did you get into the shop to see what they can do about it?

I haven't had time and didn't read the receipt that said 14 days right of return etc etc (I only wore them a week after I got them) so I'm probably sh** out of luck. Just gonna sell them on TM and go and buy some cheap PP ones or something. I think it's ridiculous that maternity jeans don't work when your belly expands! I mean seriously, that's like having a washing machine that makes your clothes dirty, just makes no darn sense!

Oh, I just emailed them to ask if its worth coming in to ask for an exchange/refund/store credit, and sort of bagged the product.
