A good friend of mine has had just the worst run of luck.
So many things have happened to their family this year its unbelievable.
At the moment her son, same age as Benjy, is sick with german measles, they have been asked to move out of their house within 7 days and she has suspicious lumps in her breast.
I feel so badly for her, and wish I could provide some decent support for her but its hard as she lives in Queensland.
I want to send her something, but money is tight and I'm not sure what to send???
Something to let her know I am thinking of her, something to make her feel spoiled and special, something to cheer her up...
Suggestions please? What would you do? All ideas appreciated.

Flowers?

A little expensive, but always very nice to receive.

That is no good Mel! What about sending her a box or something of wee pressies? Like a magazine or two and some chocs and a little something for the little dude?

Thanks guys!
I looked into flowers first, as they would be quick and easy, but unfortunately its just too expensive for me.
A box of little things is a great plan! I never thought of magazines but I would love getting those, and choc helps in every situation!

Otherwise a pretty card with a $10 body shop or perhaps Whitcoulls voucher? Although she probably doesn't have time for reading at the moment That pressie might be a little more expensive than you are thinking, but the postage will be less.

A handmade card, or nice hand written letter to say what you have said above. And I like the idea of a little girf box, with a mag, little chocs etc

I'd look at aussie sites - the postage will be cheaper if you order directly I would say (i do this for my nieces and nephews for xmas)

Had to have a think about this one come up with a video/cd message you and the kids could do, even if you only have a digital camera most will let you do a short recording or if you know someone who could load you a camera then its just the postage which wouldn't be too bad along with a home made card with some nice words and of course something choccy

Gift boxes are great, I've done a few myself recently and they seem to have been pretty well received And they don't have to cost the earth coz you can throw little bits and pieces in.
I like Kez's idea about the video/CD message too. If you did do a gift box you could throw that in there as well.

Oh, does she do MCN? That's another thing I've done a bit of, ordered random nappies for people and had them delivered direct from the supplier. If you found an Aussie site postage would be cheaper too.
