hehe these are just useless facts:

Nz households are sending over 80,000 tonnes of plastic to landfill every year & alot of this is packaging. One of the worst things of packaging is none of us really want it in the first place. It is estimated the 32 million $ alone is spent on plastic bags in NZ

Approx 90% of materials used to produce something never end up in the final product but are discarded in the production process

Almost a 5th of all household waste is paper & there is absolutely no need for it

A dirty habit
There are 3billion cigi buts thrown into the environment in NZ every year. If you put them end to end they would go around the world 1.5 times.

Over 10 million sposies are sent to landfill EVERY WEEK

The supply of water hasnt changed for over 2000years, but the population has got bigger. Scientist predict by 2050, water shortages will effect around 7billion people, which is more than the worlds current population

ETA a typo on nappie fact, its was millions not billions LOL

We only cook with & drink 3% of the water that comes from our taps, although all of it is treated to be drinkable. This uses energy, cost $ & creates carbon emmisions.
Its not the clean water coming into our homes that is the problem, its the environmental & finacial cost of treating it once it has left

Whatever we do to the land affects our rivers, lakes & oceans, When wash our cars over drains, through cigi butts in the gutter or cut down native vegetation alongside streams, we are having a impact on our waterways.
