Just a quick question: I had blood taken yesterday, and will get more taken tomorrow, to check the hCG levels are rising appropriately. Does it matter what time tomorrow I get the blood taken? Does it need to be at around the same time of day as yesterdays lot?
I ended up getting yesterdays lot taken at 3:30pm. I asked the nurse taking the blood if it mattered when I came back, but she wasn't very helpful. It would be easier for me to drop Kiya off at school then go and get the blood taken (meaning I'd get there at around 9:30am) rather than doing what I did yesterday which was to pick Kiya up after school then go and get the blood taken.

i shouldnt think it would matter, as that gap will show a rise in hcg levels

I don't know if it would matter but when I had my levels checked for 3 days in a row my MW told me to try & go at the same time each day...

it doesn't make that much difference actually, hCG levels double approximately every 2-3 days, so even at the same time 2 days later you may not get that nice doubling look. As long as things are rising nicely you'll be fine.

that would be almost a whole days difference so may make a diff in how the results are read.
when i was getting mine done regularly i was told try and do it roughly the same time...or at least either in the morning or afternoon. it may be best to get it done before you pick him up from school, say 2.30. we dont want you worrying if the levels are too similar.

That's what I was wondering, Deb. I thought that the 5 hour difference between 9:30am and 2:30/3:30pm might influence the results.

it would prob show a rise anyway but not as high so if you want to cut down on the worry levels i would go about 2.30. i remember once being told my levels werent as high as the dr would like and i panicked and thought that was it...
