I went for an interview last week and i got the job aarrgghh! Now comes the scarey time when i am going to have to part with my precious boy (10mths) for two days a week. Has anyone in here used any of the centres on the shore and if so how were they?
Also any advice on coping with this transition would be great. I'm feeling so anxious, nervous, guilty......all the feeling you would expect at a time like this
I have worked in a centre before and unfortunately it was not a great one so this makes me more worried!
So far i have been to Summerfield for a look a little girl i used to nanny for used to go there and its very nice. I have also been to Kids Planet.
I'm going to check out a few more this week......................look forward to hearing from everyone.

The centers are usually pretty good with transition, well that's what I found with the creche my daughter attends.
Don't know anything at all about centres on the shore, but perhaps spending some time there while your son is playing will make it better for both of you.
For the Vic Uni creche I had to go for 3 days in a row and spend an hour minimum for each visit. Got to see how the place ran, watch Han with other kids and read up on policy etc.

I hang out in the creche quite a lot and see devastated parents leave their crying children, only for the kids to completely forget their parents 30 seconds later and have the time of their lives playing!!! hehe
Han also cries when I walk in the door. But I'm not fooled... I know she hadn't even noticed I wasn't there.

Good luck. You might enjoy having the adult stimulus again! I know Hannah and I are both happiest when we get some time to ourselves
