one of my best friends and his wife are due any moment to be having twin girls under c-section today. am so excited for them...and slightly terrified. they are saying and doing many things that I was probably saying and doing before kids, that people with babies would have been thinking "oh dear, they have some lessons to learn don't they" such as "well, when the babies sleep, we can get caught up on everything", "the babies won't change our lives too much", " three packs of nappies should last us a week right?". I have been smiling and nodding and offering advice when i can without it being too patronising.. (i hope). but WOOOHOOO.. babies.

Depending on how things went, they may still be at the hospital tonight. She'll need to stay in for a few days, and therefore the twins - and possibly longer.

(ETA you probably already know that lol)

i did know that, but also know that hubbies get kicked to the curb at gisborne hospital early, so figured he would at home - but he'll ring when he's ready.

so excited for him. honestly nicest guy ever, and like my brother - (i don't have one, so more like he is similar to a sibling in feeling, rather than being similar to a sibling i have)

Katherine and Leigh are here (7lb 13(?) and 6lb 13 (?))- bigger than Taine! and I just had one. but anyway, Shaun (my bestie) said that it was quite gruesome but he had a prod of the placenta. He seems a bit overwhlemed and said that he thought maybe his wife wasn't so bonded with them - to which i said "she had them like, an hour ago? give her some time for the anaesthetic to wear off" - i think HE is a bit freaked out but sounds excited. still waiting for pics. Ali (the wife) is breastfeeding at present so am going to try and make that milk-fudge stuff that you people all talk about and send that over - with some normal fudge.
Am so excited about seeing them in november. babies are fraternal and apaperntly very different looking too.

She was enormous and she's quite a small girl. Shaun is a big guy though. she had been told that each of the babies were growing as if there was only one. Maybe I should give her some bio-oil for a pressie

HUGE congrats! Wow - really good sized babies, they should be out of hospital pretty quickly.
LOL - before giving birth to Gina, I too used to think my life won't change much! Yeah, right! It only vaguely resembles what it used to be but I love it!

we have friends who are pregnant to a baby who wont change their lives at all. it will fit in around them. they will still be able to do everything they want to do, and their parents can babysit so they can go out the same.

dh and i laugh and laugh and laugh in the car on the way home from visiting them!
they even have a lifejacket already for this baby!
