This thread is on the similar lines as FionaS, not sure if I have put it in the right place.
Lucy has just started having big tanties! OMG... didn't know they were going to be this bad. e.g playing on the swings and time to go home... we get crying there screaming like she is in pain, and it's a mission getting her back into the buggy.
Please help, as I need some solutions on what to do!

The only tips I can really give is, give warning before you're going to leave. eg It's nearly time to go, you can do one more slide and then hop in the stroller. And then when it's time to move, stay firm. If she won't walk, you'll have to carry her (or strap her firmly in the buggy).
A lot of the time 1yo tanties are from the kids not being able to express themselves. Sometimes coming down eye to eye and helping her with words ("are you sad we are going? well i know, but we need to get home and we'll come back another day") can be really settling.

I have the same prob with Chasity. Even if we give her fair warning that we are leaving the play ground. Man the screamin! Its amazing that no one has called cyfs. And we cant even walk past the playground without a tantie from hell.
The other night she had a tantie that lasted about 2 hours. I know it could be heard from outside. She was just so loud. We placed her in time out and she just banged her head on the wall.
Nothing worked. Not even cuddles would clam her. It was crazy. Hard work all round

sometimes you have to ignore them...just pick her up from the playground and carry her kicking and screaming to the car. the trick too tho is to stay calm! and that be very hard. giving them a warning before things happen too is a good idea. i posted the other day about toby's tantie...little boy possessed he is!

I found this really brilliant- not so muc a 'how to' but helps you understand a bit more where they are comig from.
