Can anyone tell me something about this and have your babies had it or have it??? Jaxon went to the doctors today and he has it. Hes on antibiotics and goes back to doctors in 10 days.

Also I d just like to add that I dont believe one bit that if you breast feed your babies is going to be healthier etc and not have problems cos Jaxon was fully breast fed, and still fed twice a day and he has had three flus, an ear infection and now Glue ear so its a load of bollocks.

Just thought Id express my thoughts, lol...

Emma Rose had glue ear before her grommets were inserted. The "official" name for it is acute otitis media. Basically, babies get a cold, and then they get stuffed up, and their ears get infected. Because their eustacian tubes are sometimes underdeveloped, the nasty crap that builds up in their ears when they are congested doesn't drain out the back of their throat like it does in adults, and it gets stuck in their ears. Over time, if it doesn't get resolved, it builds up on itself and thickens into a glue-like consistency (which is why it's called glue ear). The antibiotics should help -- just make sure to give them to Jaxon until the bottle is totally gone. Hope he feels better very soon! :)

Everything Katherine said, Andrew was like this all the time until we got grommets in. Hope Jaxon gets better soon.

Go the grommets! Mercedes had glue ear in both ears and her eardrum burst twice and she was grizzly and grotty but as soon as she'd had the grommets in we had our smiley, happy baby back.
