I had to go back to the dr today as he is not impressed with my iron levels so instead of just been given a script for iron tablets, I get given a script for super iron tablets and for 3 viles of iron to be injected into me once a week for 3 weeks. So i'm the lucky person who gets to have a jab every Friday morning and a blood test every Monday to check the levels. I'm hoping that this will also helps all my other problems.

Don't forget to eat more bran and fruit because lots of iron can make you really constipated(SP?). I was on 1000mg a day and it was really, really bad.

Its a good thing I don't drink tea or coffee now (went of coffee big time when I was pregnnat with Josh), but I think the diet coke may have a effect on it so I have to cut back on that.

The tablets I have been given have stuff in them to help with constipation - i've had these once before and didn't have issues last time.

But you would think I had the jab at 12 that I wouldn't still be hurting but no my butt still hurts.

diet coke is BAD...... stop drinking it now. that fake sugar stuff in it is worse than the caffeine in it.!

Oooooh Becks, I'm scared now!
I'm due for another blood test to check my iron and injections are my only option if my levels aren't up.
Do you have a mark where the shot was? My Dr told me they stain your skin as well?

Poor you, I hope you're feeling less sore now!

I just took the plaster off and there is a little mark (a dot) where the needle went in. The nurse said that if any spilt then it would leave a mark on the skin but nothing spilt.

I have decided (and I hope my dr will agree) to keep having them (the jab's) if they help. I hate the new giant tablets I have been given to take and they aren't subsidisied so they will be costing us $20 a month and I will probably have to take them forever now and we can't really afford that much at the moment, and the jab is costing $4 for 3 weeks worth.

It feels a lot better today.

Ouchies! The fact that you need iron shots might answer the other question that you asked me on Thurs tho, I'd say the answer would definitely be yes.

I asked my dr and I don't qualify as my platelets are fine (which surprised me as they are usually low as well), so he's got me an appointment with a woman too talk over options.
