DH's work contract finishes next Friday and he hasn't got a new job confirmed yet. Sooo.... we decided last night that I will look into temping or some short-term, part-time job. I got my CV ready and emailed it this morning to my old boss and a couple of old colleagues. 3 hours later I get a call from one of those people to say that they have a temp at the moment but she's leaving and they need someone to start on the same date as I will be available! It's to fill in for their actual secretary who is on maternity leave until about the end of this year (unconfirmed date), and it's 20-30 hours - pretty much over to me.

Wow! I am stunned! So we (my "employer" and I) are to have a chat about details one lunchtime next week at which point I'm certain we'll just be finalising things like times and pay and a quick tour of their premises and computer system.

So DH will be basically a full-time dad with hopefully an hour a day for freelance design and/or job hunting (because that is the long-term goal, that he will have a design job and I will have another baby ) So all tips and ideas welcome! I'm not sure yet how it's going to be for DH to hang washing, cook dinners, and visit the puzzle library/music groups - with three preschool girls! Oh and I'm not sure what to do about Kryssi's bfing.

Congrats Teresa thats awesome. As for Kryssi's bfeeding she is old enough to have a bfeed in the morning and at night unless you want DH to bring her in for a lunchtime feed. I was doing that till last week as when Alize was coming for lunchtime feed he was just fussing and it wasnt worth it for the caregiver to be carting him down to me everyday for nothing. Is she using a sippy cup or bottle for water or ebm or fornula?

It sounds like it was meant to be! It's nice when things work out like that.
I bet it will be hard leaving the girls to DH but it will be a nice break for you too (and to gain back some of who you were before kids, lol).

Thanks Kels, my job next week is to study K's routine as much as possible and see how it will work out. She has water in a sippy cup but it's still quite messy. Anyway, it certainly an option.

We told Hannah this morning that Mum would be going to work in a couple of weeks and Daddy would be looking after the girls at home, and she said "that's good, cause i don't like playing with you, mum, i like playing with daddy, and reading stories to him"!!! (I think she's been missing him lately with 45ish hours of work each week LOL)

...and she's all prepared to "tell daddy how mummy does it right" haha that's my girl
