...to find #2 Briona with 2 blocks of butter unwrapped and gouged and a VERY sharp knife.

I just flipped!

I know that its good that shes growing up, but we've told her many times not to touch knives. And that she had to open fridge, open butter drawer (up high) pull out butter, unwrap butter, drop butter on carpet floor a few times , then go get a sharp knife from the drawer which she can now obviously reach...

She Wakes up grumpy. Doesn't do what she's told then does dangerous things like this???

She's gonna be an awesome amazing lady one day. But today??? "You'll do as you are told!!"

I guess I flipped cuz she was up here for so long, anything could've happened and we wouldna known.

Things to look forward to?
I might buy a cooler safe.
And padlocks.
Is it legal to barricade their rooms? All they need is air holes right?

I am getting seriously scared for the day my daughter can get ontop of the one counter. (We have all the sharp knives there. I think I might move it soon however to a place that can lock or something. Bit of a bother to get knives out but guess better than nothing.

I remember finding my daughter, niece and nephew finger painting on the kitchen floor with the entire contents of the fridge once. There was butter, jam, pickles, mayo ... you name it. Once they finished with the floor they got the pastry brush and did the kitchen cupboards. The vinegar in the tomato sauce and pickles must've eaten into the paint work because I ended up having to repaint the cupboards.

The gremlins are constantly finding new things to get into, I think 'baby-proofing' isn't so much an event as an ongoing process. You just have to be one step ahead of them!
