Anne- ay sounds lovely! Isla is a name whcih people often pronounce wrong cos it doesnt sound as it spells, so I would be careful using a name people get constantly wrong! Although I knew people would get Isla wrong, we still used it! Isla is said eye-la (as in Island), but people say Is -la or Eyes- la,...grrrr! He he! |

It's a beautiful name  And yes, nzpiper I think it would be more like a-Nay - I couldn't figure out how to write it phonetically!
I really love the name Aerin - which is also French (pronounced like air-in). |

It was a brand of sunglasses. I'm not sure if they still sell them but I'm pretty sure it was spelt like that and I was told that it was pronounced "aah-nay". It's a really nice sounding name though and a little different which I love. -------------

Oh thats beautiful!!! LOL but no doesn't quite suit a boy!! I love the name Isla too!! We have it on our 'girls' list... but I was also worried about people pronouncing it wrong. Number one on my girls list was Eabha... It's Gaelic and pronounced like Ava... But DF completely refused because of the reasons stated above (being pronounced wrong etc)
