I am working today and the nanny is here so I am hiding away in my office. Problem is the gremlins have discovered where I am and keep coming to find me. I just looked up to find Mercedes crawling around the corner with no pants on and a teething ring hanging out of her mouth like a puppy. She is so cute! The nanny was about 3 steps behind her. I read an article about working from home and the Mum waved good bye to her kids everyday then walked around the back of the house to the outside exit of her office so the kids assumed 'at work' meant off the property. That's exactly what my Mum did when Paul was a baby, we were all at school/preschool and he was the only one home with the nanny while she worked so she used to pretend to go to work then the nanny took Paul out for a walk and Mum would sneak back in to her bedroom (her computer was in there and she was a typist) and close the door and he never knew she was there. I don't know if I'd want to do that tho, I kind of like that I can pop out and see the girls whenever I want to, or give them cuddles when they first wake up etc. It's one of the bonuses of a nanny vs. daycare. ------------- Maya Grace (28/02/03)
