Yep Andrew stayed at both sets of grandparents while we went away on our minimoon after we got married. It was only for 3 nghts and he had stayed overnight with them before (live in the same town) so it was n big deal. I actally enjoyed the time away.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

He is 4 and a half... I spoke to him before and he was very happy.

He stays with my parents nearly every saturday night and he went to Chch once before with them for a week...

He is going to a daycare in Rangiora.. my cousin is looking after him out there for a few days - her boy and mine get on really well!!

But I still feel a bit today about him going.

We are actaully seriously looking into moving down. Though my parents are the only sticking point up here!!!

well when my son #1 Josh was 5 he went to the Oz, Uk and USa with my parents for 6 weeks. I missed him like crazy though I was busy with a new born (well 5 months).

My parents take my kids away often (although now we seem to go with them) and next feb both older ones are going to Oz with them. Wasn't ready for Rhyley to go although my dad did mention in passing that they really should keep it fair and take him too....

Enjoy the break

That would make me feel very weird/empty lol. We don't live far from either sets of grandparents but Hannah hasn't stayed at either by herself. In fact she's only stayed overnight at some place when I was giving birth to Briona LOL!

I bet he's gonna have a great time, and it will be cool to spend a bit of extra time with Mr Middle

Yeah it is really cool... he was so different tonight we could actually listen to him and talk to him more!! Its always madness at night time so it was nice...

Then we realised in the bag left behind was Kalebs Blue Blanket... he has had it since a baby and he has it at night time... so Im couriering that tomorrow!! In the meantime "Mr Middle" was unsettled so he is cuddling that

I spoke to Kaleb earlier and life is just one big adventure for him!!

Its hard to watch them go (but it does get easier)and i miss her HEAPS i have to keep busy, but its worth it when i see her face so happy to see me after we've been separated for a while

I know it sounds strange but even when one of the kids is only gone to kindy or daycare or my parents I seem to be able to deal with them alot better when they come back... I think its cus you have had that time away and appreciate them more? does that make sense??

Then a couple of hours later you wonder wonder what you were thinking!!

Oh is it yuck there?? Havent managed to catch the weather so far today!

He is going out to stay in Rangiora from today until sunday. Then after that he goes back to mum and dad in Chch at my grans house..and they are going on the train to blenheim...mid next week... then a couple of days there... drive to picton and over on the ferry to see my sister for a couple of days and back to auck by plane from there.

I dont know if they are taking him anywhere touristy... we are all going down in Jan and are hoping to do stuff like that then. Thats going to be interesting!! on the plane with all 3 kids etc!!

My parents would LOVE to have Maya go and stay with them, and she'd probably love to go, but I just can't let her go. She's my baby! She does stay with friends for sleepovers etc. but I wouldn't like her anywhere that I couldn't reach her easily if I needed to. It half killed me leaving her when I went to have the gremlins, I was ready to leave them at Birthcare and go home to Maya.
