I'm sitting here taking a few deep breaths so that I don't lose it with Ella.
She's shut in her room having a maaaaajor meltdown because I wouldn't let her take off all her clothes. (no doubt she's naked now!) This is at least the third time we've had this battle today and I'm beginning to understand why they call them threenagers. She is so dramatic and her moodswings are like a pms'ing 16 year old. was just thinking the same thing. can't offer much help, we are currently battling with the terrible ayja tornado who now gets outta bed and rearranges things around the bedrooms while she thinks we aren't looking. We are still finding things in weird places from her little spree on sunday when she never actually ended up having an afternoon sleep.
oh and threenagers.. that's a great saying.. what do they say about 4 yr olds?  ------------- Janine and her 2 cool chicks, Paris & Ayja

Haha Briona goes down for an afternoon sleep and when she gets up she's in a completely different set of clothes, and usually back to front LOL. Funny child! But it's never been an issue.

Sigh!!!! I gave up a long time ago keeping clothes on my children. All three of mine strip the second we get home down to boxers or just trousers. And all three of them sleep in their underwear. And no DH and I are not nudists, we just have weird children. yeah, maybe its one of those things that its best not to battle about ... i once saw a girl about 3/4 in the warehouse wearing nothing but a pair of sandals and knickers. she looked happy enough.
maybe she having trouble coping with the change in temperature? hope she calmed down and the rest of the day was better. |

Thanks for all the replies.
Had reached the end of my patience last night after a day of moods and tantrums. (a taste of what's to come in the teenage years? Eeek!) She was tired from a late night the night before which didn't help matters, I'd been out and she wouldn't go to sleep till I got back at just after 10, so no wonder she was grumpy. You know how it is when you're waiting for DH to come home so you can run away and hide for a while? that was me last night. Luckily he arrived not long after and both the kids went to bed soon after that. So thanks for listening to me whinge 
Oh, and the clothing battle... its been an ongoing thing since she realised she was able to take them off at least a year ago. She just suddenly decides to strip and then won't put them back on again. I don't really mind too much, and generally don't comment as long as she's appropriately warm, which she wasn't. All I wanted was for her to put her socks and tshirt on. Gah! Oh well, I'm sure its something we'll tease her about in later years! ------------- Mel, Mummy to E: 6, B: 4 and:

| Ahhh threenagers. Starting to get that with Hannah too. I was very very very over it last night. She decided on the way home that we needed to go to the supermarket to get milk (no doubt in hope of getting a treat) and when I informed her that we had milk at home already she started crying and crying and crying. And terribly fake crying at that. I managed to get her inside, with her crying all the way and then plonked her on the bed and left her there. Very temped to run away. She came out after about 10 minutes all happy again. ARGH. |

I can so relate- love that saying threenager! I definitely have one of those. We have a battle every single Wednesday morning as she has to wear her PE uniform (not her school dress) and she HATES wearing trousers or shorts because 'they look dumb' and 'trousers are for boys'. Maya likes to pick her own clothes each morning which is fine, but woe betide anyone (ie. me) who tries to tell her she can't wear "day off" clothes to preschool. She has an obsession with long skirts atm, apparently because one of her friends at preschool wears long skirts, and one day last week when I dropped her off one of her little friends came up to me and showed me that she had "jeans with sparklies on them just like Maya's" coz Maya has a pair of jeans with diamantes on them.
