Now that I have three children I am becoming increasingly aware of how routines/schedules can make all the difference in a day. And some of my finely established ones are probably about to 'fall to the ground' if they are not DH's style (cause he is going to be full-time Dad soon). Go ahead and share some of yours! Here's some I can think of for now,

When at the library, always get the same number of books out so that when it's time to take them back you always know how much to look for.

Another library thing, aim to have books out for 2 weeks so that if something happens you don't have to worry about renewing and/or overdue fines, you still have a few days up your sleeve.

Have a set day each week when you (endevour to) tidy up and vacuum, so at least you know it was done not too long ago!

Get the kids (above 2yrs) to help tidy the toys away before dinner each night.

Put felt pens, crayons, etc, in a box with a lid. We have a couple of shoe/gift boxes which fold shut (the lid is part of the box). Great for keeping tidy.

The only 'routine' thing I do is make sure the dishes, bottles and washing are done before I sit down to the computer or to watch TV, otherwise I don't get started on them till late and then I'm late to bed.

But other than that my house exists in a state of organised chaos. We don't even get up at the same time every day, we get up whenever the gremlins get up (which this morning was 9.30am )

Andrew knows that he has to tidy up his bedroom before he goes to bed.

I have set times that I like to do things - eg washing at night, dishes in the morning.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I just do whatever, whenever (cleaning etc - but then Kelly comes to visit so I rush around tidying up lol!) but have a fairly 'guided' routine for Brenna. I don't really go to the library (but prob will once Brenna is a bit older) but I don't think I'd really care how many books were gotten out, they give out a slip of paper so I'd just know by that how many I had to take back.

Ahhh 9.30 Emma!!!! Lucky you!!!!
