YAY for summer!! I've spent the last 3 days outside gardening and Brenna just hangs out there with me. I have found that she crawls properly on the grass (she's normally doing comando style)

LOL Anna, Isla crawls like a spider on the grass. Mercedes likes to spider crawl heaps too. And Sienna is happy just to bottom bounce along, altho I've noticed her crawling a couple of times today. I don't want her to crawl, shuffling is so much cuter!

Is anyone else having tantrum issues with there child???

Ethan just squawks when he doesn't get what he want, usually when he can't play with the electrical sockets, or brush his teeth constantly....

I just don't really know what to do with him,,,he seems too young to be so stubborn.

Oh my gosh! I dont feel ready to be Mum to a toddler yet! Wheres my wee baby gone?!

Lol Emma! Isla did the spider thing on the lino today, cos she ran away when I was cnaging her, and she was only were a top and nappy, and the lino was cold on her legs!

Lol Natalie! Isla has been demonstrating her personality loud and clear for a while now too! She even told my Mum off for taking her own mobile ph off Isla, by banging her hand on the table and growling at her in baby talk! He he!

Isla has been very unsettled and miserable the past week (well last week was even worse than the week in Palmy!)with an ear infection/glue ear. She seems to be better the last 2 days tho, and she was only awake twice last night, thank goodness!

Hope everyones having a good weekend.

Yes James has been having tantrums for the last couple of weeks he goes all stiff and screams I just leave him to it and gets over it pretty quick but if its constant and I have had enough of it i put him to bed for a couple of minutes it seems to calm him down.

I hope Isla gets better soon Kellz.

Daylight savings has got me in a right funk today.

There go the developmentally delayed gremlins again, they're not having tantys yet LOL But Maya sure was by a year old so I'm sure they'll get the idea soon. I always found (and still do) that ignoring is the best policy - it just ain't the same when no one is paying attention to you!

The gremlins are now kamikaze pilots in the bath, they spend the entire time trying to climb out of the bath or pull themselves up on the taps. They're pulling to stand much more confidently now, Sienna was even brave enough to let go and hold on with one hand but Mercedes just stands there lik "ok, now what?"

Other than that pretty uneventful here, went to see SIL and BIL today and they were pretty well behaved, altho they are generally pretty feral. Taking them back to the doctor tomorrow to get their ears etc. checked as they are snotty as anything and grumpy and grizzly, have cut some teeth on top tho and now have six each.

Hope Isla is doing better now Kellz!

And sorry I missed all the drama with Ella's MCU Andie, sorry it was so awful for you but glad Jono was able to go with you and that the results look promising. I found it really frustrating that they wouldn't tell me anything after the MCU but the fact that they kept asking how long until we saw the specialist was a pretty good sign that something was up, and what do you know 10 days later she was in surgery. When is Ella's follow up?

We're having a playdate with Kaia tomorrow!

Hi there October mums!

Wow I can't believe our babies are almost toddlers. Sorry I haven't posted in here in ages. Lots of stuff being going on! Being busy renovating our property and also just brought another rental property of which I am the property manager of so it has been a bit of a learning experience dealing with tenants etc and changing around paperwork.

Anyways enough of that!

Ollie is still not showing any signs of crawling - we have encouraged him by trying to show him how to crawl but he just isn't interested. He will probably end up being a bum shuffler - in fact I think most of us were in our family. He has good balance on his feet though and when he's in his walker he can stand for a while. His favourite thing to do at the moment is clapping his hands, and chattering away. He has also just started having the random tantrum which was a little embarrassing today when we were out at a very busy cafe and all of a sudden he shrieks!! I had a few stares from some old women but I thought "get over yourself women!"

Ollie has been sick on and off for the last 3 weeks with colds, vomiting bugs and temperatures. He has just started coming right the last several days so that's great.

It's great to read the progress on all the October bubs. Let's hope that the next year all the toddlers will be nice and healthy!

PS - Ollie still has NO TEETH!!! He has had all the classic symptoms but still nothing. Hubby was 12 months old when he got his first teeth so perhaps in the next few weeks ha ha!

How is everyone's party plans coming along? We are going to be having a combined house warming and 1st birthday and will have a BBQ. We are thinking that we might hire one of those blow up castle type things (not sure what they are called exactly) to entertain the kids. I will probably make a cake with the Number 1 on it.

Sorry this is a long post!

I will try and post a bit more regularly now - the slacker that I am.

Wow Millie, you're getting a bouncy castle for it?!  That is sooo every kid's dream!  Awwww and Brenna is such a character, Anna.  Cutie cutie.  Emma we don't have a follow-up appointment made - slack MidCentral Health.  I must have asked so many times how I'd get the results and when, and came to the conclusion that I'll go get them from our GP in a week-ish.  I've been in there a fair bit anyway... Miss Ella had diahorrea for a week, with a bit of vomiting thrown in for good measure.  Ugh, I'd find myself feeling nauseous by lunch-time every day, then I realised of course I felt like that - look at what I'd been cleaning up all morning!!  Thanks to eating nothing but bananas with banana farex, and gastrolyte syringed in, she's on the mend now.

Natalie, Ella's a tanty-thrower too.  Anyone else find their tantrums kinda funny sometimes, or is that just me?!

...have an awesome gremlin-Kaia playdate, ladies!    And Kellz - has Isla's mood improved over the weekend?  Hope she's a box of fluffies today for ya

Well we had to rush James to the Dr yesterday afternoon I picked him up and he felt really hot took his temp and it was 39.6 and he was really lethargic and dopey he has an ear infection so is being drugged on antibiotic and pamol and some nose drops and but he seems to be a lot better today.

Glad to hear Isla is better today Kellz.

Yay thanks, Kellz!  I was wondering who fitted where, too.  But I'm also missing Kaia & Lily (sorry guys!).  And something weird is going on with my return key so that's what the big gaps are about.  This feels weird, being in the 'toddler' section.

Miss Ella will be celebrating her birthday with Brenna & Oliver.  Yep, her party is 2 weeks late because it had to be if her grandparents are all going to be there and we need the in-laws house for it.  Plus, with her 2 separate hospital appts on her actual birthday it won't seem like much of a celebration for her

How many naps (of any?) are your babies having now?  We tried just the one yesterday and it worked really well, but didn't at all today, so Ella's having a morning sleep now.  She'd been waking around 6am though, and going to bed at 7.30pm.  When do the other Oct babies have their bedtimes?

I was wondering the same thing about naps and bedtimes too. A few times Isla hasnt had a morning nap cos she has been fine and not seemed tired,..but most days she still needs 2. She wakes between 6-6.30am, nap about 9am for an hour, nap about 1.30-2pm for 1 1/2 hrs, bed at 6.30pm,..but of course thats all different since daylight savings. She went to bed 7pm last night, up at 7.15am, and down for nap at 10.30am. So pretty much the same,...the times just an hour foward! Im so confused!

What about eating? Im sure Isla doesnt eat enough, and has way too much formula for her age. She is still having 4 bottles,...and will drink upwards of 150 ml each time. She still wakes for a 9.30-10pm feed
She will eat 2 tbs of baby porridge made with 50 ml formula, and 1/4-1/2 peice of toast for breafast (sometimes a bit of fruit too),...lunch 1 piece of bread in a sandwhich with avacado or ham or vegemite, raisins or a bit of banana or pear of other fruit (not a very big peice), a slice or 2 of cumcumber of celery, and maybe a buiscuit or rice cracker,..dinner is hard. She HAS to feed herself and wont eat the "family" meals we have tried. She will eat about 1/2 a plain sasuage or about 4 aria farm meat strips,...and the other day had a chicken leg,...but cant get her to eat anything with it. Veges are a no no,....HELP! Suggestions greatly appreciated!

ETA- Isla has slept through the whole night (6.30pm- 6.30am) twice now! So gooo Lily! Lol!

The gremlins are still having two day sleeps, they get up at about 7am, go back down at about 9.30amish for 1-1 1/2 hours then back down at around 2pm for about 1 1/2 hours, then down for the night around 6.30pm. They have always had high sleep needs tho which doesn't mean they have always been good sleepers, just that they NEED lots of sleep, apparently partly coz they were a little bit prem.

Food wise they don't eat much. Usually they have 1/2 tin pureed fruit mixed with 50ml formula and Farex between them for breakfast plus one piece of toast between them, morning tea is a biscuit or a piece of fruit or crackers, lunch is a tin of custard between them plus a sandwich with cheese or marmite (equiv 1 slice of bread each) and some fruit and afternoon tea is a biscuit end/or fruit. Dinner is about 1/2 cup each of pureed meat/veg (I just puree up whatever we have for dinner) plus some fruit, or custard or crackers if they still seem hungry. But generally between them they eat what the average baby would eat on his/her own.

Formula they have 3 bottles a day each of 150ml but usually only drink around 120ml. I used to make up 200ml bottles but they just waste it.

James generally only has one nap a day now but maybe every fourth day he will have two depending on what we have been doing.

Bedtime is normally 7:30 8 at the latest and wakes around 7am.

Food wise for breakfast he eats about 4 tbsp of baby muesli and 4 toast fingers. Then has a snack for morning tea lunch he has some yogurt or custard something like that a sandwich and a manderine, then another snack for afternoon tea for tea he has the amount of a watties jar then some yoghurt and a cruskit he also has 3 b/f a day.

for the last few days he 's been eating about 3/4 of that since he's been sick gee it seems like a lot when you write it all done like that.

Thanks Kellz... I'd been wondering about food today as well!  Ella will eat anything up to 10gms (dry) farex powder mixed to a super-sloppy consistency with a little fruit in there for brekkie, but she usually eats only about a 3rd of what I make her.  She must eat about 30gms of pureed food for brekkie.  Lunchtime she sometimes refuses solids all-together and dinnertime is hit and miss, she usually eats some but much less than her breakfast even.  She can eat meat if I've cubed it up for her in tiny pea-sized pieces, and has been known to eat about a quarter of the occasional mini muffin.  Won't eat fresh fruit, but will put bits of dried fruit in her mouth.  And brocolli... she'll eat that as a finger-food if I've got it in tiny pieces.  She drinks 4 feeds of her formula, anywhere from 150 - 200mls each time.  It's blimmin frustrating though trying to get her eating - I offer solids before the bottle but she just hates food.  It's infuriating!

OK I'm just in a bad, bad mood about it today.  My child is throwing tantys a lot today, won't friggin eat at all today no matter what I offer her, and the house is a pigsty (which always makes me grumpy!).

Awww, hugs Andie! The gremlins and Ella will just have to be the starving, underweight grubs of the October toddler bunch then. Coz of course we NEVER feed them, and they are so deprived!

If it helps, my house is a pig sty too and the cleaner didn't come coz she locked her keys in her car.

Wow there has been lots of people on this thread today!!

Ollie's routine is as follows:
Wakes up anywhere from 7:00 am - 7:30 am has a bottle then about 30 minutes later I alternate his breakfast every few days so it could either be fruity weetbix mixed up with 100 mls formula sometimes less or otherwise he might have a tin of something for breaky. He then has another bottle around 10:30-11:00 amish. Lunch around 12:00 pm this might be pumpkin & kumera mashed up and then has a yogurt or sometimes a tin of something if I am out. Put him down for a sleep around 1:00 pm and will sleep for around 3 hours. Lately his day sleep patterns have changed (not sure why). He has over the last several months only ever had 1 day sleep for up to 3 hours and that seems to be Ok with him. He then has dinner around 5:00 pm and this could either be a home cooked meal i.e. mince, apple and kumera mashed together or sometimes a tin of something and then another bottle before bed. Most days he has around 4 bottles but sometimes only 3 bottles. Never been a big drinker - sometimes takes 150 mls but usually only 100 mls. He is in bed by 7:00 pm most nights.

Andie I am also experiencing the tantrums at the moment. Has had a few this morning while I was visiting a friend with a girl same age as him.

How is everyone's party plans coming along? Our list is growing by the minute!!!!

Isla wont let us feed her anything on a spoon, other than porridge for breakfast. Thats why I find it so hard to get dinner into her. She has to do it herself. We put a few veges on her tray, and she will just play until we give her meat, then she will pick through the veges to get the meat! Arghh!

Brenna still has 2 naps each day, about 9.30am then 2pm.

She's a garbage disposal though! She has fruit, weetbix and toast for breaky. Sammy, luncheon, cheese, custard and fruit for lunch. Bicky for arvo tea then meat (she'll eat as much meat as I give her), veges, pasta, fruit for dinner!

She will also try and eat any food that she can find left over on the floor

She has 3 bottles a day of about 200 ml

Lily loves her food also, she has museli for breakfast then she goes down at 10am and then up at around 11.30-12 for lunch and she has a full size yoghurt and a full banana or kiwifruit or orange's etc for lunch and then she goes down at 2 and then up at about 4.30 - 5 for tea at 5.30 and she has vege's and meat. I still breastfeed her, but she has a 200ml bottle at night then down to bed around 7.30 - 8....
The odd time we will throw in some toast with her meals also....

Great to hear all the babies are loving there food....

OMG! what a night couldn't get James to sleep till 12 last night I thought his ears might of been sore so gave him some pamol but that didn't seem to do anything he was feeding of and from 7 and was fine until I tried to put him to bed so finally got him to sleep by lying down with him and feeding him on the couch.

I was also trying to do the weeks baking as well at the same time and Jesse was being an ar$se about going on about how he needs his sleep and what I don't.

I hope James gets better soon he's just been such a grumpy bum.

Sorry for the little vent

Oh no Danni, hope James is better soon! Isla has been the same with her ear infection. Took her to Dr last Mon- got antibiotics, she was still up all evening, and then waking everyfree hours, for ages each night by fri so took her back. He gave her Nurofen to take at night for pain, cos it gets worse when they lie down, and it really helped.

Thanks for that Kellz thats probably why the nurse asked me if I had Nurofen at home on Sunday sometimes I wish nurses were allowed to prescribe certain medicines. I'm sure sometimes they seem a bit more on to it.

Hope tonight is better Danni. You poor thing - and poor wee James.
This thread is great - haven't been on for few days as have visitors staying. So good to read what other babies are doing routine wise and with eating. It is reasuring. I love our Oct toddlers group!
Oliver has one day sleep after his lunch - normally around twelve or twelve thirty and it is for about two hours sometimes longer. He is also getting harder to feed so don't worry Andie, Ella is not the only one. I am now struggling more with feeding him off a spoon too Kellz (unless he is holding a rusk which seems to distract him - I put the spoon in his mouth in between sucks!) I am not very good with finger food but am really trying hard now. I still get so worried about the choking. He eats toast fingers and wee bits of soft fruit but I haven't tried all that much else. I really must make an effort with it - esp since he obviously wants to be more independent.
I also notice Ollie is so much more determined and has wee tantrums too.
Do you have many things you say "No" to. I do for the TV but sometimes I think it makes it into more of a game. He keeps racing back there and smiles - little monkey!
Shelley - you asked about the nought to five prog. One cool thing I remember was they showed a wee activity to help develop their vestibular system. You put them on a towel or blanket and drag them along the floor - like a sled. I have been doing it with Oliver and he loves it. Also putting them in a blanket (like a hammock) and you and your partner swing it above the ground. Lots of fun!
Andie I saw you and Ella in the latest treasures magazine. You looked like such a nice Mummy and Baby.
I have got heaps of people staying this week. It is nice but also hard. I miss having just even ten minutes to myself!
Have a good rest of the day everyone - sorry this turned into a novel.

All the best for your nana-nap plans, Danni.  It's hard to feel loving towards our partners when they're busy whinging about needing their sleep and you're already sleep-deprived... hugs to you, chick!   Jono had a veruca burnt off his foot yesterday... he said last night 'oh the pain, Andie, it really hurts... it's worse than contractions!'.  Ba ha ha ha!!!  Sure it was!  I told him he's just a pussy.

I just found 2 cute dresses and some gorgeous pants amongst Ella's clothes that she's not yet worn... all way too small for this summer.  Grrrr!!  I've reluctantly listed them on TM.  What a waste!  Anyway, I'd better get off of here and into the kitchen - got a bit of baking to get done.

Dontcha just love that we're up to page 3 on here already!!  Yeah!

Hey all....
Just got sent this link from a friend and wondered if I could join in the chit chat here???
Hi to Angel and Maya's mummy...LOL good to see some names I know.
Charli is my oct baby....LOL in the toddler section even though I feel she is so not near a toddler yet.
Look forward to getting to know you all

Wow! Three pages already!!

Hi Lynne, welcome to OhBaby! These ladies are lovely, hope you like it here!

I cannot believe we are in the toddler section, I am not ready fo this!! Kaia doesn't even crawl yet so I refuse to believe that she is nearing toddler-dom.

Kaia has three bottles a day, sometimes four. And she is relatively good at eating. Loves finger foods. She is getting harder to feed at mealtimes but I find she enjoys feeding herself with a spoon, so we each have a spoon and I can cram food in in-between her mouthfuls. It makes an impressive mess.

She is sleeping much better, thank goodness. She is still on various medicines and has an inhaler. But she seems more comfortable and settled.

Danni, I hope you and James are both feeling better.

Kellz, I feel for you and little Isla. Ear infections are painful. I hope she is doing better and that those antibiotics have kicked in.

Andie, that sucks about finding new clothes in the drawer. I have a few cute little things that Kaia never wore. I have put them into a storage box in the wardrobe for 'next time'. I have always been a bit of a hoarder! I checked you out in the little treasures mag and you both look beautiful!!

Emma, bugg@r bout our missed playdate. I reallyt wanna catch up with you guys soon, maybe early next week?

Katie, I like that idea about dragging Kaia on a towel. I wish I had seen the nought to five program, I watched yesterdays one with Mel in it but can't seem to fix it in my head to remember it is on!

I still cannot believe our babies are going to be one soon. I have not even started preparations for the birthday! I think I am in denial.

Hi, Lynne... Welcome!  Of course you can join in here!  Great to have a newbie join in the fun.

Anna and Natalie... your photos in the sleep ad are gorgeous!!  You guys look great, and Kaia and Ethan are soooo sweet.  It's weird seeing the soothing naturals ad printed again... Seems so long ago!  Did you have fun doing the whole thing?

Enjoy your visitors, Katie.  Hope you get some space some time!  I can handle someone in our spare room for 2 days before I just need time out.  Right - which of the October mummies are making it to the mega meetup?  Be awesome to meet you ALL

Oh crap.  That's kinda true today.  Is there an award for most neglectful mother??  For once Ella had a decent brekkie... a proper meal of it.  And since she woke very early today, I figured she'd need her little morning nap, and she was grizzling away, but refused to sleep, just threw a massive hissy-fit.  I resorted to pamol figuring since her tummy isn't right yet (yeah, jumped the gun saying her bottom problems were clearing up ) so maybe she's sore.  And at 9 I finally realised the child hadn't had a bottle yet today.  Oh My Gosh do I feel awful.  I could slap myself silly today.

Emma I just read about the idiot pharmacist and you bubba's nappy rash - man, I hope that's all better soon.  Do you know what caused the diahorrea?  Tests came back on Ella's last week- no identified pathogens.  But it gave her a rash that ended up getting a thrush infection.  Sounds a little too familiar... Becks is dealing with the same thing too for Josh.  , Emma...  becks if you happen to pop in here!

welcome lynne.....charli is my october bub too where abouts are you from?

thanks for the reminder anna!! i can't believe my baby is one in 7days time i'm just watching her crawling about the lounge, getting into everything and when i tell her 'no charli' she gives me this cheeky grin that makes me melt

she's pulling herself up on everything she can, including the dog and walking around furniture. she sleeps 7.30pm-7.30am, has a nap about 12.30-1pm til around 3.30-4pm. charli basically eats whatever i give her and will now have what we have for dinner which is alot easier.

danni i hope james is better today.....charli had a miserable day on sunday, all she wanted to do all day is sleep and cuddle me. was nice but a little hard to get anything done.

yesterday was my 'due date' so i went through all the old posts from our preggy days. it brought me to tears reliving it all again    the roller coaster of emotions charli's birth had me going through....

how many of you are going to welly soon? we were hoping to get some money for home improvements and extra to go, but that fell through so there's no way we can go now...i'm so gutted!!!

ok, novel over...sh*tty day here but really need groceries

Hi Lynne and welcome to OhBaby.

Well we had a much better night last night James went to sleep at 9:30 woke up at 4:30 this morning which he doesn't do very often anymore I feed him which I'm trying really hard not to do when he wakes in the middle of the night but it was the second time I had to get up think the hail and wind woke him up then he slept till 9 so I got a little sleep in which made up for me missing out on my nana nap yesterday as James decided to sleep for 3 hours in the morning and would have a sleep in the afternoon.

Thanks everyone for thinking of us.

Andie we can't make it to Mega meet up as my parents a coming down that weekend for James' birthday

*waves to Lynne* Had been wondering how you and wee Charli were getting on!

Danni - Glad to hear you had a better night with James, grrr at Jesse, you should have pushed him out of bed to make him get up! Not that I've ever done that to Willie or anything...

Andie - I have no idea what caused the diarrohea but have a suspicion that it may be the same bug as Ella and Josh have had seeing as it started a day or two after we got back so they had all been together. Maybe something they picked up at McD's? I still can't get thru to the bloody pharmacy which is making me even more frustrated, more fool them when they DO finally answer! Sienna's butt is an absolute mess, am going to go back to Curash which I know and trust, and have her in sposies atm as well.

Anna - glad to hear Kaia is doing OK with her sleeping and feeding, you must be feeling pretty relieved! The first year is nearly over and you survived! A playdate next week sounds brilliant, we can come to you if you like. And the gremlins party is the 15th, hope to see you guys there!

Kellz - how is Isla's ear doing now? Hope she is happier now!

Katie - good luck with surviving the house guests!

Whew, is that all? Man you guys have been busy!

I love our October babies oops toddlers group too! So much so that those sneaky gremlins went out and bought all their wee October friends birthday pressies!

She is not crawling yet either but bum shuffles everywhere~ so feel fake being in a toddler section LOL.
Charli is also having 3 bottles a day sometimes 4 and finally stopped wanting anything at night. She has severe reflux and some food allergies too so hard finding stuff that is easy to eat when u only have 2 bottom teeth.
Will come back later to read over what you all are up too and learn about your beautiful kiddies.
Have 4 kids running around the house like mad peoples LOL hey but it keeps my bigger boy entertained

Go away Katie's visitors, we want her back!

Have had a pretty cruisy day here, went and had lunch with GandT and her boys and the gremlins had fun. Decided they weren't doing the afternoon nap thing and romped around their cots instead, I am going to have to start putting the drop side up, I haven't bothered but looking at them standing there today they are in danger of toppling over the top.

Am loving the warmer weather today, we had chicken and salad for dinner, I love that it is sooooo easy! Summer dinners are great coz you don't have to think about what to have, just any random meat plus a bit of salad.

Gremlins finally over their tummy bug, hooray!

Oh and I am starting to wonder what I have gotten myself into with this birthday party, it is going to be HUGE! It's looking like 50+ people, including lots of little gremlin friends. It's going to be chaos! I still can't believe they're a whole year old tho!

Actually I have been rather clucky lately think it cos I keep thinking that I was just about ready to drop this time last year which makes me kind of miss my pregnant belly it doesn't last long though I snap myself out of it pretty quick.

Emma - the invites you made are VERY cool!!! and it was so cool having mail addressed to Brenna in the mail box I'm gutted that I can't come up, it sounds like it
ll be a great day!

I've finally made progress for Brennas b-day. I went and got the invites I made printed yesterday so now we need to get them in the post!

It is amazing to think of this time last year - how different my life was!!! I just realised that today (last year) was my baby shower...it feels like a million years ago

I wonder what all our bubs will be like this time next year??????

Oh now I'm getting sentimental too!  Thanks, guys.      Ah, I suppose it's good for the soul.  This time last year I think I'd decided that this baby was never going to come, and I'd just be pregnant forever.  We'd bumped the induction date foward a day, or were just about to.  And I'd stopped answering my phone... oh yeah, and my FIL kept dropping by 'just to check I hadn't had the baby yet'!  Took a preg test yesterday after getting paranoid about being nauseous and hungry every day.  BFN and I was quite relieved.  Made me realise how not ready I am for another just yet!

Ella was walking yesterday!!!  She's ventured on from taking just 2 steps before very slowly lowering herself down, and now she's walking - holy cow!  She's so funny though - super-cautious about it.  And all it takes is one little tumble and she won't try again.

Hey Danni your night sounds great last night... what movie did you get?  I went out for coffee and a bunch of us suprised a friend with babyshower prezzies... lots of fun and dodgy conversation .  Made up for being stuck at home alone with baby a fair bit in the evenings recently.  I hope all you Oct mummies are having a good weekend.  Crap weather though, eh.  And hey - I'm glad the gremlins are feeling better, Emma.  Kellz, did Isla get a funny tummy in the end?

I've gone and bumped us up our old thread from the pregnancy section, so if you like you can go and REALLY get sentimental!!  I'd forgotten that I'd said goodbye to my dying grandad a year ago today.        And oh, how we were all soooooo over being pregnant!  And you'd hung onto those 2 buns in the oven for so long, Emma!  And most of us were marvelling over how Emma and Vanessa ever managed looking after a child AND getting ready to give birth.

LOL Andie, I was sobbing over it the other day too, can you believe it's been a whole year? I keep saying that but man, where did the time go!
Yay at Ella walking! Go little monkey go! Am soooo glad that the gremlins look to be a good couple of months off walking lol!
Oh and AF is being a bit slack here too atm, I have my fingers, arms, legs and ears crossed that she will show in the next couple of days even tho I'm reasonably 99% sure there is no chance I'm pregnant coz we use natural family planning.

Glad Brenna liked her invite Anna, I still think you should totally ditch the baby shower and come here instead!

I've just noticed that Mercedes is really into 'posting' stuff atm, she loves putting the balls into the Fisher Price fish bowl, and putting blocks into the box, and she 'posts' things down just about any gap she can find. Oh and they are totally loving these $2 shop board books I bought Maya when she was their age and she was never really that into them, but Sienna has taken one of them to bed with her!

Oh Wow! I just read the pregnancy thread - so nice to read. I was like you Shelley and got wee tears in my eyes. It is so nice that we have all been together for so long as a group. It was really interesting to read. I'm quite keen to read some of the early baby ones now too.
Go Ella! What a star with her walking. How exciting is that. A real wee girl!
Emma, we have just got back from a first birthday which also had LOADS of kids. Very busy and noisy but lots of fun. You are one brave woman! He he, it will be fun.
My visitors are GONE! YAY! I feel so relieved. It was nice to have them here but I did find it hard trying to look after Oliver at the same time as showing them around and looking after them, cooking dinners etc.

wow, I can't beleive our little ones are nearly one...

we has the neuro developmental therapist come to see Ethan about his not sitting on firday, and guess what, he learnt to sit that morning...typical boy.

well at the moment I am stressing big time, am up to missing my second period, but am way too scared to do a test, really really wasn't planning on another one so soon, wanted Ethan to be at least two and a half maybe coming up three...haven't told DH as he would be so excited, I have decided to put off getting a test until next week when i do the grocery shop....really I have never been so keen to get my period......

so apart from that, we are good, Ethan is doing great, he is so much fun at the moment,

have to go will finish update later

OMG Natalie Go Test, Go Test!!!!!  I'm amazed at how patient you are... I tested in my paranoia and I'd not even missed a period at the time!  That's so cool about Ethan learning to sit  - and just in the nick of time too.  Clever lil man!

I'm excited about Charli turning 1 on Wednesday, Vanessa... she's the first of our little group to get there, awwwwwww.

Natalie! Test! OMG!

I'm very, very, very pleased to announce that AF showed here yesterday *sigh of relief*

Yesterday was a great day here too, I took Maya out to pick birthday presents for the gremlins and she picked an activity table and a Little People circus, waaay more than I was planning on spending but however, it was up to her....

Mercedes ear is weeping again Off to see the GP this arvo then the specialist again tomorrow.

Oh and LOL at Lily bum shuffling Shelley, my Sienna is a bum shuffler, she bounces like a little kangaroo but damn she is fast! In the past couple of weeks she's alternated between crawling and shuffling and for a while it looked like she would stop the shuffling full stop but now she's back into it and not crawling so much.

Wow Natalie!!! We are all now anxiously waiting to hear results

Yes I can't quite believe our babies turning 1 either.

It is such depressing weather in Wellington at the moment with the winds blowing and the constant rain. Haven't been able to get outside much lately - hopefully it will all clear up soon.

Emma sounds like you have got the Gremlins some cool birthday presents I think I have probably gone a little overboard buying stuff for Ollie but I just can't help it!!!

How is it all going with Ella and her walking Andie?? Is she the first one to be walking in our October group? I think Ollie will be the last - he is definitely not showing any interest in doing much of that!! And yay for the bum shufflers!!! My little neice was a shuffler and it was so funny to watch sometimes.

How is everyone's preparations going for 1st birthdays? I have got things pretty well organised. Just waiting to get a few more RSVPs and then I can confirm numbers for food, beverages etc etc.

Hope everyone is well.

Our confirmed # is sitting at around 70, about 40 adults and 30 children, with a few still to RSVP. I'm going to get the nanny to do some more baking this afternoon, I'm starting to panic about how I am going to simultaneously cook all the sausage rolls, pizza, chicken nuggets etc. in my oven!

Blimmin heck Emma!!! You are going to be one busy woman!! At this stage we have around 30 adults and 10 children but that could change. Have you got someone to help you out with the cooking?? Maybe you could ask some people to bring along a dish so that you don't have too much pressure on you? We have some friends who are vegetarian who said that they would bring along their own requirements - that has taken some weight off my shoulders ha ha!

I'm going to stick to the basics - little red sausages, sausage rolls, pizza, chicken nuggets, ham sandwiches and cheese sandwiches for the savouries, and fairy bread, fairy cupcakes, choc cupcakes, muffins, biscuits, fruit kebabs, chocolate brownie and a variety of slices which I'm going to get from the local bakery for sweet stuff. Plus a heap of bottles of soft drink, and I'm going to use plastic cups/plates etc. so there's not too much washing up. Plus my mum is going to be here to help as well.

That's great that you have your mum to help out - both sets of parents will also be coming around so extra help is always great. We will also have paper plates/cups and plastic cutlery.

Oh and Mercedes has a new word - "this". It's her new favorite, and everything is "this". She points to stuff and says this, she says "ta this" when she wants to give you something or you to give her something, it is soooo cute!

Hi everyone! Wow lots has been happening this week! Yay for cute Oct bubs doing new things! Ella would look sooo cutey walking!
We have been away since Thurs, to see DH's family, then to Napier for the weekend. Just got back this afternoon.

Glad some of the babies are better now. Isla is still unsettled and pulling her ears heaps,...back to the Dr tomorrow.

Big news,...we are moving. To Gisborne. After labour weekend! Eeek! Its all happened so quick!
Will be soooo good to be in our own place,...we have been basically living out of a room for nearly 5 years- all our own stuff is stored and we were living in a flat with 5 others for 2 years in London, so just had our stuff in our room..then since being back in NZ, we have been living in PIL's bach with all their stuff! We have never used any of our engagement or wedding presents! Will be like Christmas! He he!
Gonna be a very busy month tho! And we will be living with the in laws for a month after we leave here, before we can move in to our house. So that will be interesting!
