man who would have thought that a rugby game could make you feel so blue.
I have had this feeling twice before, last time in 2003 when we lost to Oz I was at the pyramids in Egypt which kind of sucked cos how cool, at the pyramids and they were being overshadowed by rugby, I had to turn off my ph in the end cos I couldn't cope with the txt updates of us loosing. Then the time before that in 99 I was at the game when France did it to us....bloody france eh, can't believe it, am crying into my porrage

I agree, last time it was all 'a country in mourning'. Maybe if there wasn't such a huge media build up the pressure would be a bit less????!!!

Yup, so that will be a good game I really feel the All Blacks need to get over all the pressure and the media and play with their hearts again - they don't seem to have the same passion as some of the other teams. Yes, it sucked, but life goes on as they say. I'm so glad Oz is out as well though, doesn't make it so bad...

No way!! Sure it was a bit of a shabby AB game, but if the ref had picked up that forward pass (only one of his many blunders), we would have won cos they wouldn't have got that try.
Perhaps the English ref wanted an England-France final?!?

Ah, but maybe that's why he was biased towards France... England wants to be up against France so they can play them and hopefully beat them, therefore ending the rivalry for another year?

My dad would strike me down for saying this but I'm not really into rugby *ducks* I come from an absolutely rugby MAD Taranaki bloodline tho so I'm doomed from the start! My uncle came up from the 'Naki to watch the game with the rest of them up here and according to Dad they are now all crying into their beers over breakfast...

Lol, love it. Man I can't believe Aussie lost either, crazy! DH watched the first half of that then came to bed, he's guttered he missed it now. We had some mates around for breakfast and then rugby on the projector, it was a very somber mood at the end. Now DH is wallowing in the bedroom listening to radio sport!!!
I still think that although it was a messy AB game, the ref was shocking.. he missed alot of calls.

I'm thinking the ref won't be around for long at all. But maybe this will make them review things - I mean surely the people watching the screens in the little rooms should be able to tell the field ref when he may have missed something?? Cos we're all human and can't see everything at the moment it happens.
But there's nothing we can do about it now.. DH thinks tomorrow should be a national day of mourning.. lol.. I'm guttered too but man it is a beautiful day outside, the sun is shining...

have to say, I always thought we would choke and wouldn't win, my sis and I have said from early on it would be a France South Africa final (and I am a born NZer).
As for the video ref calling out the forward pass, I don't think they can rule on a forward pass can they? I know they can't in league anyway. Have to admit I didn't see all the game so didn't see the forward pass, however to be fair to the ref, you can't see everything when at ground level, a birds eye view makes the world of difference.
I will say though, go Murphy, go Holden!!!

If the ref is making dodgy calls and for example only calling 1 side up for being off side, you have to play to that. The ref may have been dodge, but the AB's being
'best in the world' should have played to that. THey didn't play the kind of game in the play offs that wins world cup rubgy. In typical NZ fashion we are will now fire Graham Henry, find a new coach and start all over again. Have to say, was never a fan of him, so bring Back John Mitchel

Don't care, don't care, don't care, don't care.
It's a game, somebody has to win, and everybody else gets to lose. The All Blacks are so overhyped, overrated and the way they are portrayed as almost 'god-like' is ridiculous.
I could go on for almost a whole page about my opinions about this and the Americas cup but I don't think I'd make any friends or fans from it.

I'm probably going to get hung for this but the All Blacks sucked, they were pathetic. How can they be the best team when they haven't won a World Cup in 20 years.
I don't care either, and wish people would grow up, its only a rugby game - a very expensive one - and you'd be gutted if you'd shelled out $$$ for semi final and final tickets.
Wont be watching the news for the next week. It will all be rugby.

Haha - All men I saw yesterday looked as though they were about to string themselves up.
Yes AB's are supposedly "The Best" and their game was sloppy, but as my DF said to me last night, he's not going to sit and mope about, especially knowing that as a whole, we still are the best. We're the most consistent... And had it not been for that f***wit ref, we would have been fine.
But you know what they say: C'est la Vie!

Being Northern Hemisphere born and bred, I have to say that although the Southern Hemisphere does have a higher skill of rugby, I honestly believe that Northern Hemisphere teams have a stronger passion/determination and this is what wins the game at the end of the day.
