me again. Right this nappy addiction is getting a bit expensive so thinking I should go for some prefolds and covers when at home and not needing to show off the bot.
Do these last as long as pockets/AIOs etc or are you changing more often?

Promise last MCN question for today

Depending on how much Jeremy wets will depend how long they last. At the moment we are mainly using prefolds and covers at home and then pockets/AIO's while we are out and mega pee'er will usually last approx 2 hours in a prefold with no booster (he also hates a wet bum).

One problem with prefolds we are finding at the moment is that it is getting harder to put them on him later because he wants to roll everywhere, and we are having a slightly easier time (not by much, but still) putting his pockets on, which is why I am about to make a billion more

Prefolds wont solve the addiction though as there are far to many cute nappies out there to tempt you Charlotte.

Charlotte, have you considered making your own nappies? Or do you know someone who could make some for you? Then you could use prefolds as the inserts. I am finding Kaleb lasts a good 3 hours in a pocket stuffed with a premium prefold. In fact I said to DH yesterday about selling some of our other inserts coz I tend to only be using prefolds at the mo but he said no

ok rather than start a new thread can someone tell me whether 3 covers to 12 prefolds is a good ratio? (one of the covers is a bummi polar the other two will be bummi whispers).

Thats what I have and it seems to work. I found the whisper wtraps a bit big on my newborn buthe's into them now (tabs meet in the middle on this skinny boy) but the fleece ones were excellent....have just bought more.

Edited to say.....How the hell did my post post before the quoted one????????????????

Haha I think it's to do with the fact that the times for posts seems to be determined by the users own computer (as I've noticed some posts are out by an hour against current time) but the thread ordering is done by this timestamp - so even though you posted later your post has an earlier time.

At least I think that's what it is.

You're not the first person who's said that about the covers - maybe I'll get a fleece and a bummiwhisper. I'm only going to have 12 prefolds as I'll have 6 fuzzis and also some bumgenius - I think 3 covers sounds like it will be ample based on the feedback from you guys.

yep I think you would be ok with 2 covers and all the other nappies you have. Be prepared to go through "phases" with your nappies as you work out what works and what doesnt. Then you go back to one that doesnt work and find out now it does!
