So I tested on Friday, and was so shocked that I did both tests that were in the box just to make sure ! Of course they both came out the same, but then today, I went to buy some folic acid tablets at the chemist and had to buy another test ! Am I a dag or what ?? Of course it showed positive too, although because it was a clear blue the lines were a bit different. Did anyone else do this ??

Also came away from the chemist with Elevit - anybody else taken this and anything I should know / you could tell me ? ? Seemed to be the only one available with a higher dosage of folic acid in it.

Edited to add:

Did I also mentioned how wierd it is to be feeling excited / happy but terrified out of my wits at the same time ???

Wow that is so cool I kept wanting to do the tests again just to be sure congrats as for your other question I don't know the answer. And yes it is very normal to feel every kind of emotion.

i only did one test but went to the docs and made him do a blood test straight off to make sure - even though most docs take the homes tests as a positive anyway.

I still have both my girls tests too Marlene.

And yep it's normal to feel excited and terrified at the same time - it is pretty much the start of a new life - not only the baby's but for you as well - it marks the end of your old life and the start of your new life as a mum, full of excitement, frustration, joy, sorrow, and exhaustion. Just enjoy the ride. lol. it's a bit like a roller coaster.. you take the ride, and it's so neat but so scary, you just get over the first ride, and then talk yourself into going again. lol

Congrats on your great news
i did a home test first and then went to my GP the next day to be sure.
I have kept both my daughters tests in special box each with their hospital tags,1st bottle,1st dummy and any other little goodie to remind me and to show them as they get older.I also kept a newspaper from the day they were born to see anything special that happened that day

Ha ha I went to Dr cos I thought I had diabetes!! Turns out was preg instead! I had NO idea at all!! I burst into tears, it was all a bit overwhelming, exciting, scary etc, coupled with the fact I had a massive bleed that morning (thought I had got my period and it was heavy), so there was also confusion - I felt like the DR was giving with one hand and taking away with the other when she said well, you are pregnant, but you may have lost the baby.. It was a friday, so I had to wait all weekend (on bedrest)to find out on the monday blood tests to see if I still was. I had had a blood test on friday which was all good, but needed another to be sure. Then that one was low, and I was still sick, so I had to have a scan, and I waited 3 days for an appointment!! Talk about walking on tenterhooks!! Everything turned out good, though, I got Jacob, who the Dr thinks may have been a twin. That was some wicked week long rollercoaster!!!

Congrats on the new addition to your family to be.

I took a home preggy test on the wednesday, made an appointment to see the doctor on the friday, did another test on the friday morning and then had the test at the doctors, and yes i still have my tests.

My mind still boggles at the different emotions i went through and still go through, just remember that everything you feel is normal.

All the best

aaaaw I don't have my tests (I did multiple ones too, seems to be the normal thing to do Jax!) never thought about keeping them but I did keep a newspaper from the day Joey was born and kept his clamp off the umbilical cord (TMI?) and have been writing down all his firsts etc.
