Alright so i went to post on the other post about this and deleted what i thought was just my newest post ont he end of it... but hello - it deleted the whole post?! i didn't think you could do that.
ok. everyone but Becs has replied so far, but the consensus is lunch for everyone, with most happy with either date.
Becca has requested the 11th since hubby is away before then. So if it's all good with everyone else then Sunday the 11th of December, lunch it is - if we make it about 11.30 then we should beat the other's to it.
kewl, ok so any other details anyone wants to add.. this is the post to do it now, lol sorry i deleted the other one.. having a bit of a mummy brain day.. lol

when you post a reply - before anyone else replies to it there is a little box that says delete next to the edit one.. i pushed that, thinking it would just delete that entry, and instead it deleted the whole post!
Am possibly thinking that by the barbeques might be a good idea lol

Haha I will probably do that even with name badges!!
Was also thinking if we bring our own lunch (BBQ meat) and share drinks? Cause I LOVE sparkling grape juice (just like drinking wine but not alcoholic - and actually doesnt taste like wine! ) but can't drink a whole bottle by my self!!
Should we PM either myself or Janine with our phone numbers so if closer to the time someone can't make it or something then we can just ring up?

the name tags might be a good idea. In japan I went to this park where they give you name tags for your kids, and you [put your cell number on them so if they get lost, someone can ring you. You put the sticker on the kids backs so they can't get them off. Might be a good idea. My child is bound to go off with any stranger. We went to the Tokyo Motor Show last weekend and he threw himself into the arms of some high school kid.

That sounds cool Janine. Will be good to get the day on camera!!
I learnt how to make Pavalova last weekend so might attempt to make it for the BBQ too!! Depends on how many of us there will be.
So lets make a list...
Lena and Arna - Pavalova
Janine, Mike, Paris and Ayja - Cous Cous Salad, Plastic / Paper plates
Becs, Kiya and Josiah (Maybe Nathaniel?) - Lettuce Salad
Aimme, Daniel and Hannah

Nic, Braedon and Makayla
Update the list with partners name (or any other people that are coming) and what you are thinking of bringing.

I say bring Buggies and Blanket - Arna is a "scavenger" no matter how much she has eaten or what she has in front of her everything else is better!! So I think she will be in her buggie!!
I will bring our BBQ utensils as well (in case we use two BBQ's) - What about Tomato Sauce??
Rainy Day ideas - Lollipops (as Janine said), converge on Plaza / Downtown foodcourt!, Someone's house....

Hey, not sure if we can come either. My dad wants to see jake and it looks like that weekend is the only time he can come up. So won't commit to anything, in case we can't make it.
Th weather has sucked in the past week. We keep saying to jake we'll take him to the park, and can't as the weather is either too windy or wet, or both. Went to Lollipops today, but poor little boy was almost bowled by the older kids....even though he was in the baby area. not impressed!!!!!

yeah, i was really disappointed, not with Lollipops itself but with the opther mums who sat there, while their kids ran riot. Now when your kids are 7 or 8, i guess you don't need to supervise so closley, but they shold've been told off for going in the area reserved for under 3s. jake was having a great time in the ball-pit til they jumped in it, and practically landed on him....repeatedly. I told them off and they got a bit funy and left.

Such memories reading your posts girls!! I grew up in Levin (god help me ) and went to Uni in Palmy Nth - I know all the places you are talking about! That park in Levin is pretty awesome, I was down there a couple of years ago with my best friend and her boys. I'm going to be in Levin for New Year this year actually, have a family reunion on. Jono is so excited.... NOT!!

Ooh, i saw a recipe for failed pavs. Roll them up with deluxe creamy lemon yoghurt and sprinlke chocolate shavings on the top.....i'm hungry

Haha my last failed pav was cause I had chips in the oven, put the pav in and forgot the chips - so had to open the door to get the chips!! Oops... The pav ended up being just the shell
Could buy one - might still - Unless you want to bring one Liz?

I reckon lollipops is the best alternative a) no one has to stress bout a tidy house an how to keep kids amused and b) no one has to cook lol

okay, I went to lollipops the other day. jake is one so he was $5-95, adults are $2 with a complimentary drink. Under ones are free (if you have any under- oneish, i owned up to jake being one...dammit)
Not sure about the older kids.
Unfortunatley what i remember about the food is that it IS a little pricey for what you get, and fast foodish too. If your little ones have allergies or anything, I would suggest taking your own food and tell the lollipops ladies it's too bad!!
I may be a little late. jake usually is awake by 11 but today he's not! But i actually live across the road so we'll walk.

Easiest directions I can think of is from the Square :
Head up Rangitikei Street towards Tremaine Ave, stay in the left lane and just befor the Tremaine Ave lights there is a street on your left called "Matipo Street", turn left into here and you will see Lollipops!!
If you miss it turn left at the lights then take the first left and then Matipo is at the end.
Not sure if I can make it now, But will be on here tonight and I will know by then.

yeah she got a little better, not much - omigod was so embarassed she did the whole gross whinging noise thing... definately spending too much time at daycare and just wanting attention - she cries about everything right now - i have to continually tell her before we go out and reassure her that yes, i will carry her down to the car, i go to get something from the room and she'll cry, and think i'm not gonna take her.. hope it changes.
all your babies were so cutie cute...
man it was so hot... i was melting... definately not a very kid friendly environment in terms of temperature!~ ayja was like carrying a squirmy little furnace around with me
next time we'll do the esplanade... or we could go swimming - the babies should be old enough by then.
how long did you guys stay after we left?

Oh no!! And she was such a cheery little girl on sunday. maybe lollipops gave them something!! jake is okay today but has three molars coming in which didn't help. We went up to the doctors late last night. the doctors there are weird. And he told me off...kinda .... for not giving Jake enough Pamol - but i had read the instructions and was following it religiously so was pissed off at the scolding.....

Speaking of crazy weather, did you all get woken by the earthquake last night? We both thought it was gonna be a big one (had a couple of biggies here when we were younger) and Daniel jumped out of bed to get Hannah and told me to lie on the floor beside the bed! (Which btw is one of the safest places to be, not under a table or doorway like we got taught at school). Lay awake for ages after waiting for another bigger one!
