I have been told that losing a few kilos and getting fitter can help with conceiving. I only need to lose 5 kg to be in my healthy BMI range.
Has anyone else lost a few kg and had a positive result?

I'm the opposite, I need to put on some more body fat to be in optimal range for a healthy pregnancy- apparently between 20-22% is the 'ideal' I'm a bit below at 18.4%.
I've heard (and read on Ohbaby!) that lots of ladies do successfully conceive once they have lost some body fat. It's an ideal excuse to lose weight and look good while pregnant, and the exercise helps prepare your body for the big haul ahead! (As long as you keep it up throughout pregnancy!)
I think theres a fitness page somewhere on this site - maybe under the 'planning' link at the top!

According to the BMI I am obese, and my GP did recommend I lose 10 kilos, a weight loss of 10% can have a fast improvement in your overall health.
My biggest concern is with pregnancy you can gain between 11-16 kilos, which combined with my age and my current weight is asking for health problems.
So I am on WW for the next 12 months to get my weight down and ensure a safe and healthy pregnancy. Sorry I don't have any problem conceiving.
