you crack me up.

Nah, 'cause I've been quietly chuckling over you all telling your children that they are not allowed to grow up! Could be, however, because I knew all along Xavier wasn't going to be my last child, though.

Becca I think it might be that you knew there would be another after Xavier. I'm a bit like that with Kryssi. I'm fairly sure she won't be my last. But also she's in 12m clothes and growing super-fast and doesn't really look 9mos (well only in her face)! HI! *waves*

Well we just scrutinised our budget and we reckon we'll be fine like this for next year. So my hours don't have to go up, and I can ask for a payrise but don't need it. What a liberating feeling! We're currently saving $65/week (am so thankful that the student loan is paid off!), half of that is for things like shoes, pj's, all that kind of stuff, the other half is for unexpected expenses (replace an appliance, repair a leaky pipe etc). So that should be enough if we run into trouble.

Yay! Now just to get myself the job Carly thinks it's pretty likely, we were talking in hushed whispers the other day in the office so are going to meet for lunch instead sometime next week and I'll get her as an ally

We've decided to just play that by ear. I don't think I'm fertile right now anyway (having gone for the last 4 months without contraception!). DH said if I'm pg why stop working, I'll have to 'work' in some way anyway (ie SAHM v working out of home - which is less exhausting). Then we'll consider our options as to maternity leave and who will work after the baby, etc.

Good idea. I worked up until a week before Alize was born. it was very taxing tho I shouldnt have really dont the long hours I did and I dont think I would do that again but parttime would be fine.

I worked 44 hrs/week up to 35 weeks pg with Hannah. I would have liked to drop to part-time but that option wasn't available for me (small office). I was getting a bit worked up with trying to plan everything in advance (I'm a bit like that lol!) and tying myself into knots because of all the 'unknowns'. So we decided to decide properly later

Right I'm gonna start putting my conversation starters in here since it's nearly November already I can count down to my birthday while you guys count down to your babies' birthdays

I was going to put up my spiel about DH feeling a bit depressed and stuff but I've decided to do that generally. Hopefully if he does come on OB (which he hasn't in a couple of weeks), that he won't get offended! Ah well, all in the name of trying to be a supportive wife so if he gets that bit, all will be well

okay so i thought I would put us right:

as Quoted on Ohbaby

Toddler

Welcome to the Toddler Years! Your baby is growing up! The toddler stage is a time of learning for both baby and parent, when personalities begin to emerge and boundaries begin to be questioned.

The toddler stage begins around the time your baby learns to walk, and continues until he or she is around 3 years old and begins kindy or preschool.

so yup apart for one (Xavier) i don't think any of the other november bubs are walking yet??

Hi all! Had a good day at work today, caught up on a few things cause Carly (who I am PA to) ate something last night that disagreed with her and she took the day off! And I had gone in for an extra hour like yesterday too.

It's settled though (at least from my end). When the boss comes back on Monday (she's at a 4 day seminar in Auckland) I'm going to ask if she's ok with me upping my hours to 35/week (from 30/week) cause there is definitely that much work available and after trialing the extra hour yesterday and today, yea I'm more tired at the end of the day but it still works ok for our family and I'm not feeling as bad today as yesterday so most of it is probably just routine. So hopefully that'll start on Tuesday.

How's the Nov mums? I'm a Nov mum in the truest sense - I'm a mum and I was born in Nov. haha. so it's my bday coming up in 2 weeks

Xavier is self-weaning... this week I stopped offering his just-before-his-afternoon-sleep-feed, and he's cut back on his night feed as well. I have a hard time feeding from one breast in particular already, and now Xavier seems to be taking a quick snack off the "good" side then trying the "bad" side and giving up before he gets anything out. This has happened the last two nights, and my "bad" side is so sore now.

Still, he'll feed sometime between 5:30am and 6:30am tomorrow morning, and that should be a better feed.

Cos Xavier needs to have a word in Alize's ear. I am wanting to wean but then I get all emotional and change my mind esp when he is crying and ripping my top up for it. At least if he was self weaning I wouldnt feel so bad and it would be one of those ' out of my control moments' IYKWIM

I wonder if it's his age, Becca, or does it taste different with the pg'cy?

-------------

Posted By: daikini
Date Posted: 09 November 2007 at 8:36am
I'd say its his age, Teresa, since I'm now 14 weeks and he hasn't been mucking around this badly the whole time. He doesn't seem to miss his afternoon feed, and he's drinking a cup of cows milk (about 100ml) with his breakfast happily and having yoghert and cheese so I'm not worried, just sore! It seems to be he's ready to stop having those particular feeds, but he still wants the early morning one.

I expressed a little last night, fed Xavier at 5am, and expressed again in the shower this morning and its a little better. I got mastitus (sp?) in this breast after Josiah self-weaned, so it doesn't surprise me that I might be heading down that track again. I'll keep expressing and put my wheat sack on it if it gets too sore... we'll see what happens over the weekend, and then I'll talk to my midwife on Monday.

Becca my nephew self weaned when the sis-inlaw was preggers with her second .. she seem to think that is was because the flavor of her milk was different ...

Thomas still fusses with his before nap day feed .. and sometimes his before night sleep feed too ... sometimes I'd be amaized if he actually got more than a cup out of me ... but he still has a good morning feed ...

and when he wants it .. he rips in there (even if it is in the middle of the No 1 shoe warehouse LOL )

Hope the mastitis doesnt bother you again :) and hope youre feeling well :)

I forget to look in here most of the time ...

Not long till the change over

Wondered where you had got to Teresa LOL ....

I think Xavier's been talking to Kryssi . She has been fussing a bit for the last few nights when going to bed. Tonight I acted on a hunch and offered her a bottle. She had already bf off me but the bottle is probably easier (for her). Sure enough, she drank about 150ml. So there goes the night feeds and I really only have the morning one left. She doesn't always feed in the afternoons and I think it's just a comfort (me getting home) thing, not a need.

Unless she disagrees lol, I intend to bf in the mornings until Christmas time and wean her completely (including bottle) over the 3 week break.

My boy is growing up... he went to bed tonight without boobie or anything! just straight to sleep I didn't offer, and he didn't try and get inside my top, so I guess Xavier didn't want anything. This means that the sometime between 5am and 6:30 feed is the only one he has now.

Oh, and I saw my midwife yesterday... I'm measuring about 1 1/2 weeks ahead for dates, and I got to hear the heartbeat for ages because Crumb was moving around so much it took nearly 2 minutes for the midwife to be able to time it properly! I got the forms for my anatomy scan as well, so once I'd picked Kiya up from school I went and booked it in for Dec 14th.

No Teresa, I ususally measure bang on! I was a couple of weeks behind with Xavier initially, but when I went for my anatomy scan we found out why - I thought I was 20 weeks but I was actually 16 weeks! The midwife was really surprised, and then when he was born 8lb 14oz everyone at the health centre (where the midwives had their rooms) wanted to know where I hid him.

I went shopping today... and got Xavier's birthday presents. So much fun! His "big" present from Nat and myself is a Baby Tad toy and the Warehouse has $15 off them at the moment, so I was able to get that plus a bunch of little presents for the total original price of Baby Tad! That does wonders for our very tight budget, let me tell you

Becca you are so determind to make us come in here aye LOL

Well today is 1 more week till Rhyley is one I am resided to the fact my boy is growing up so quickly. Hes sitting on the floor at the mo - rice cracker in one hand and a museli finger in another and wiping what gets on the carpet into it LOL - hes also started that stage where he has to have both hands with something.

LOL!

Becca, it will be interesting to see what happens with your size etc this time. My fundal measurements were basically the same for all three girls - all born full-term at 7'3, 8'4, 8'0 - but with Kryssi I was far bigger in clothes sizes.

all my pregnancies i measured so different - Josh I was HUGE! Brooke I was tiny and Rhyley well i showed practically straight away and at 30 weeks was measureing way too big which midwife suspected i was retaining fluid and I had to rest or else i would be put on bed rest lol (as if i 'd be bothered!) but I guess at the end I was huge too. although only put weight on baby weigh no where else so lost most of it after Rhyley. With Josh I put so much weight on - had the double chin thing going on etc LOL....

sorry rambling there - Becca is there a possibility you are ahead of your dates?

Oh here I go again 'encouraging' talk in here LOL...
