I found out yesturday a friend of ours had died... I was just told (they have done an autopsy) it was the result of a beating he received last week in Manurewa when he stopped to help some people being attacked. He had been to the hospital and they had "ruled out" any problems and sent him home... and now he has died. So sad. He was such a peaceful guy!
It upsets me to know that he has died in this way... life is so unfair to some people!

OMG I've got tears in my eyes.
I really hope the person responsible gets what they deserve. I really can't understand how people can be like this. However, what a kind and brave person your friend was to stand up for someone in need. Much love to his family and friends.

The worst part is we dont know if the police even know who was responsible for the beating... I guess we will find out. I hope they get whats coming to them for this. Grrr.

what is the story behind the manurewa thing - was it during the day or at night? weird as police in manurewa usually have their fingers on the pulse of what is going on....but how did he come to stop there?
I am so sorry to hear he died as a result...that is not fair. |

Im not sure what he was doing in Manurewa. He does live over that way though.
I would hope the cops know who did it.. I will most likely find all this out soon. The funeral is on Tuesday. His mum isnt doing to well... she is on tranquilisers so getting much out of her at the moment is a bit hard to be honest! (also Im not the one speaking to her so its coming through someone else) Im not sure how these things work but Im guessing his mum will be in contact with the police.

Thanks for all your wishes.
I saw his death notice in the paper today and online. Makes it seem more real.
My DH has tuesday off to go to the funeral and a large contingent of his friends are going so hopefully it will be a great send off for him.
