I went to pick up Ella at DC today to be told that she had a HONEY sandwich today! with butter!!! OMG!!! Told them honey was a no go zone let alone dairy!

anyone able to bump the list of no go foods etc for me or put them in here so i can show them...the manager knew of this but the girls in the baby room didnt! ARGH!!!! Manager is going to talk to the cook at the DC but meantime I want to give them the list too! or point them in right direction

also - Ella is still choking on bread etc...and they asked if they can give her raisins....I said no....Im thinking about 12 months for that??? any ideas?

Hey, plunket do a handout with all the common foods and the ages that they can be safely introduced. Honey is on the 12 month+ diary is 8-9 unless there is family history of allergies. Bread is under 6-7 months (so long as it doesn't have any bits in it) can't find raisins on the list.
Surely the DC should be up to date on these.

Although having said that I have a friend who sends her daughter to a preschool that specialises in allergies and somehow her child ended up eating another childs peanut butter sandwich and she now has to carry eppipens.
They are not suppose to eat their own food but this one girl wouldn't eat the lunch that had been prepared and a staff member allowed her to eat a sandwich that her mum had packed her for the ride home, she shared it with my friends daughter. Needless to say the sh*t hit the fan.

The For Baby list is the same as the Plunket one, I gave my girls raisins from about 9 months I think. We have a list http://www.ohbaby.co.nz/article.aspx?ContentID=1312 - here but it doesn't cover finger foods.

Emma gave Kryssi raisins when she was down here a month ago - and no probs here. I just don't like too many raisins for a non-TT kid cause they "recycle" LOL!

Can Gabriella have toast? She'll probably suck on it like a cracker but it's not as choky as bread or crackers.

BS there is a good list in the Thriving under 5 book from Plunket. It tells you what and when to introduce up to 1 year. It is quite near the back on a folded card. Let me know if you can't find it and I will scan it and sent it to you.
