so who has already been to the P&C show and what did you think?
We went first thing this morning and had a good day. Seemed less busy than last year when I went on Saturday but also seemed things were more spaced out. Got some great freebies, the reachme pack and foodie pack were great and got some great deals. Got a zoobie (sp) for Jack which I LOVE and as a friend was getting one too we got an awesome deal (2 for $65 I think it was). The new watties products look good too I thought.
Left around 2pm and was very tired and laden with lots of bags of goodies. Oh and got a good deal on Jack's formula too, 2 tins for $20!

We went, thought it was awesome! Well worth the drive. Spent about two and a half/three hours looking at everything, and that was without any kids with us. Came out laden down with bags of freebies and other stuff we bought. There were some great specials - bought some new bibs, Weleda stuff and a few MCNs from Real Nappies and Snazzipants. Entered a hundred competitions, I hope someone I know wins, if not me!
Thought the Reachme packs were awesome, if hard to get with all the form filling. Didn't rate the Watties stand due to a very surly and unhelpful 'helper' there - chill out lady! Overall thought it was well spaced out and a good range of organisations, though would have liked a better range of discounted baby clothes (the boutique stuff was still out of my price range!). If I had DD there the parents room looked great too.
We definitely got our money's worth.

From what I've read so far it sounds as though people found it really good and bought quite a bit of stuff. We're going tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it now. Sounds like some really good bargins. Can I just ask, do you need to take cash or can the stalls accept eftpos and credit cards?

So funny you should say that, we had the same issue at the huggies stand. We stood for ages in front of a man filling out the competition form, then taking vouchers, then tried to ask him a question and the whole time he never said a word to us. We left and came back later in the end.
All the stalls I went to took eftpos but not all accepted credit cards. Cash is easier too.
Oh and there are 2 places with plastic backed bibs. One has a better special then the other so keep an eye out.

We got done by this one! I was gutted! One was three for twenty dollars (which we got) and the other was four for twenty dollars but we didn't see it until the end. Still great bibs though.
Cash is easier, but many places have eftpos. There is one ATM in the foyer if you need it.

Its a very bad idea to go as you will spend lots of money - well thats my experience .
Seriously though i thought it was very well set up, with loads of freebies and some great deals ie 4 bibs for $20 and gogo bags really good deals too.
Forgot to say what made it even better was i got 2 freebie entry tickets from a radio station.

Hell yes it was a great day out! We arrived at 10 and didn't leave till after 3 and I had to make a trip to the car to dump a load of stuff so I had room for more! Worth it even if just for the $20 I saved on the gremlins formula (got 4 tins for $40, it's usually $15 a tin) plus the equiv of a whole pack of sposies, heeeeeaps of baby food (oh and I bought some of the GC baby food @ 7 tins for $5).
And I got to say hi to heaps of the OHbaby! advertisers, the people that keep OHbaby! going, so please support them! (Pleased to hear you bought a Zoobie SB, we love Baby Stuff!)
And big ups to Huggies, we love them too! I met their lovely new brand manager and he threw me some awesome TT guides for when the gremlins are ready to TT, plus even more nappies.
Oh and Snazzipants rock, I got fleeced by their new AIO's - they do ZEBRA minky! Will post pics of the zebra butts tomorrow! We love Pippa!

Oh and forgot to say, if you're going tomorrow or Sun and get a chance, pop into the Egg Maternity stand (just down from Huggies in the corner nearest the entrance) and say a big hi to Laura from Nurture, they are a charity set up to further research in the areas of infertility, miscarriage and pregnancy complications, we're going to be working with them over the next few months, Laura is lovely and they have some super funky t-shirts on sale to raise money for Nurture, I was totally gutted that they only do them up to 12 mths coz they are GORGEOUS!

Emma, were those the t shirts with the female/male symbols on them? They were so cool!! I second you on the sizing thing.
I thought the huggies stand was really well set out with seperate areas for different ages, good thinking with that one.
We went without kids and at one point I wished we'd brought a pram with us because we had so much to carry! I got an AIO from Pippa too, she's lovely.

I went too came out laden with stuff as well. I got the 4 Silly billyz Bibs for $20. Heaps of other freebes and lots of new bags to take supermarket shopping.
Also got some Pitter Patter shoes for Alyssa, They didn't have the design I wanted but the lady said I could do a special order for the show special price, so my shoes should be here in two weeks and Alyssa will be the only one with them.
Poor Alyssa got a bit grumpy and wouldn't feed in the parents room because she is too nosy but we had nearly finished by then anyway so had a great day. Well worth going !!!

I spent far too much money!!!
Bought the gogo bags and a kinderkot then got swayed by all the specials - like the Ecostore laundry powder.
Got heaps of freebies - took DH and he managed to get more than me. Found the organic babyfood stand good he walked away with about 4 containers of it he he then I went and they gave me 3 so we def got our entry fee's worth!
I bought one of the Ecobots trial packs for $12 then walked around and saw the Real Nappies one for $5 but I still think 2 covers and 2 prefolds for $17 is alright plus the Ecobots one is an unbleached prefold. Mmmm.
I would love to go back - I'd love to have a look at some of the stands that we never even got near. I didn't even see the stands selling bibs

Sounds like it was awesome!!
We're not going this year thanks to a lack of funds and we weren't sure that there would be much to grab out attention...sounds like we were wrong! Oh well, there is still the stupid lack of funds thing....P&C is no fun without the shopping as well as the freebies!!

I got told off at the organic baby food stand. She was telling us about the products, and I wanted to see the ingredients on one. There wasn't one on the table so I grabbed one off the display and got told off for wrecking the display. I put it back so not sure what she was on about!

i thought the lady at the reach me stand very rude...but the foodie pack was worth putting up with her for a min...
i got a lamington t shirt for only $15, gave some money to the kidney kids stand and the nurture lady. was pleased to see the zoobies there as i thought they were much smaller... also my all time fave baby product the bug in a rug was there... i wish now i had brought another one, they had a gorgeuos pink striped one and they had a deal if you brought 2 of them! never mind, bub will just have to put up with the blue one. also got to try on a dulce and zoet sling and brought some ecostore washing powder (a bargain at $5).
I did think there wasnt as much give aways as in the past, and there wasnt as many nappy stands (disposable) as prev years. I didnt see the ecobots trial pack, lucky for my wallet but i do loved unbleached prefolds...
all in all quite good tho, and yeah a buggy might have beennice for all my bags...

We were there for 4 hours and still didn't make it around all the stalls. We had already spent wayyy too much so maybe that was a good thing anyway I thought it was great and we came out with so many samples. Mostly thanks to the guy we saw at the Treasures stand who gave us a whole lot of extra nappies and maternity pads (a full bag of them) and said that we could name our baby after him

we scored HUGE!!! i took mum so we got double of everything! and i bought the special of 11 silly billy bibs for $50....so stoked with that!!! Got heaps of food and the photographer took a photo of ella drinking the new organics juice - the lady jumped in and begged him to let her place a bottle in shot so mum said "oh do we get some free stuff then?" and we did!!! SCORE!!!!
got 20 plus nappies and the wonderful people on little treasures gave me 4 copies of the mag for the J and J advert with ella in....they rock!!!!
and the snotty cow on the disposable bibs stand that wanted to charge for the "samples" can go fly - last year they were free! I told her so and she told me i was imagining things...ummm still have some....so cause i was pissed off i grabbed (as did mum) some from the parents room...last day so i think we have like 20 freebie packs now....LOL!!!! paying for samples my ar*e!
got soo cool sipper cups, some freebie bibs and cups from s26 lady, and grannie bought ella one of those leather ride on giraffes from the place that did the music cds etc .....couldnt fit bubba in stroller by end...well by half way so carried her around! LOL!!! am exhausted now.....

How did you get so much jaz? I thought I did well with 20 odd nappies in one day, about 10 jars and 6 sachets and about 6 sachets of the formula we use with another 8 of the next one for when Jack is older.
BS, what was S26 giving away? everytime I went past them they were really busy and as we don't use it didn't bother.
Got a few swimming nappies too for Jack and some of the new toddler pants from huggies as well.

We went up separately but then we went back at the end of the day. One of the ladies was fairly generous, there must've been about 12-15 nappies in the bag she gave us. DH got the same lady when he went up 5 mins later. At the end of the day they had run out of our size in one of the ranges so gave us a whole pile of the other type. Bt the time we got some Huggies, Baby Love and the organic ones we had quite a stash.
They were a bit reluctant to give us or talk to us about formula as Caleb is under six months and still mostly BF. We got the big brushoff from all of them.

The most interesting conversation I had was with a woman I know who was a midwife, now Plunket nurse, who said there is very little difference between the 0-6 months and follow on formula. As companies are not allow to promote the infant formula they have developed a follow on formula that they can market. Check out their adverts 'help ensure your little ones don't miss out on all that extra nourishment'. That certainly isn't promoting breast is best. Interestingly overseas infant formula is deemed anything under 12 months.

I think what they might mean by that Jaz is that from 6 months babies need more than just breast milk (or formula) hence you start solids. I was having a chat to them about formula after 12 months, and think it would kind of apply from 6 as well. If bubs doesn't eat well one day, if you have given them formula you know they are getting alot of the vitamins etc that they need. My breast milk when I was getting to the end of weaning Jack wasn't very good at all hence we stopped all together.

Well our return was well worth it, ran into a lady outside with a free pass who randomly got us in for free, got 40+ sposies, about 2 doz formula samples, plus got 8 boxes of S26 Toddler Gold stickpacks for $10 coz it was the end of the day and thats the one the gremlins have. Oh and some Lamington tees for $5 each and a heap of free Weleda goodies just coz we happened to be there at 5pm when they were packing up...

Absolutely. The gremlins refuse to drink the S-26 made up at full strenth and will only take it at 2/3 strength, but because 2 cups (a total of 10 scoops) fulfills their dietary requirements for iron, calcium etc, and they have 3 bottles made up at 2/3 strength (a total of 9 scoops) they are getting all the goodness, just watered down a little.
