Alex is on the Karicare AR formula but at some point I'd like to wean him off it (it makes him constipated and it's expensive) to go back to the normal Karicare one which he used to be on, once I think he can cope with it. Can I combine the two of them (say two scoops of each in a 200ml bottle) for a while so that it's a semi-thickened formula or is that a big no-no?

I don't know if it is a big no-no but I have mixed different formulas to get the taste of the other when switching, so I would say go for it.

I am just having trouble introducing a new formula and nutricia have recommended mixing the two. They just said make them seperately then mix. I made them in the same bottle and he did a massive puke Is to do with the different consistencies etc.
You could also try introducing one bottle a day of the new formula and slowly wean that way. Thats how I weaned from boob to bottle and it seemed to work quite well.

i did alternate feeds of each and then slowly took 1 out untill jett was on the new one.

some babies dont mind tho if you just swap them to the new one strait away, aparently if its the same brand of formula there isnt much of a taste difference.
