Well after Josh throwing up everytime he had eaten something I had to go and investigate. So I worked out that it was oatmeal in all the tins and jars that were the common thing. So off to the dr we went (after the sheets, clothes and etc were washed and the matress was aired) and he was sure I was right but we had to have the skin prick test done. Josh was very well behaved while he had the test done (only for food) and let me hold his arm for the whole 15 minutes while we waited for the test to happen. But nothing reacted (the lab lady said sometimes they don't show up for babies under 12 months) so we don't have to keep him away from anything yet, but I ain't giving him oatmeal again for a while.

shameyou didn't get any results but I guess for you it will be a case of elimation. Sometimes its better to get a reaction than none at all though.

Usually RAST's are not very conclusive till children are over age 1 so I am not surprised that it came back with nothing.
Hope your lil man is Ok though, reaction to oatmeal and a prick for this troubles!!

Like otheres said they dont always show until they are older, but it could be that he isnt actually allergic (as in an immune system response), could be an intolerance instead. At least you have been able to work out what it is that is making him sick and can avoid it now. hope he's feeling ok

Aww poor little guy. When I first gave Hannah baby rice she came up totally raw on her bottom. I never gave it to her again but she hasn't turned out with a reaction to anything else since. Hopefully Josh will outgrow the oatmeal thing in a few months.

I'm hoping its just an intollerance that he will grow out of. So now i'm on the lookout for new breakfast foods for him - Daniel was the lucky receiver of some food today from my cupboard - as it was usually a red tin of cereal for him. He is happy now since it is out of his body. He goes all pale and floppy and after a shower he wants to go back to bed and sleeps for a few hours, after that is wide awake and my happy little boy again.
