dove is ok....
I say use a quality one to get hair back on track and then go supermarket one again....I adore kerastase and use it between stylist and supermarkets every few months as a real treat!
but bring back good old apple shampoo (detergent?) i say! I loved that smell in my hair!

I second the apple shampoo, that was a favourite when I was a kid!
I would say Pantene is probably the best supermarket brand shampoo to go for. Bizarrely I washed my hair with Sam's J&J baby shampoo tonight and it feels amazing!!!

yeah I don't like either of those, they leave a waxy type of build up im my hair and makes it look lank and gross.
i like the fructis, or the fruitrience or even vo5 or baby shampoo. I buy Joico or Redken (love the small and great products) avout once a year and eke it out!

I use fructis.. i love that. I used to swear by pantene however got to the point I was having to wash hair really often for some reason it started making my hair yuck
I use the palmolive apple shampoo on our girls hair - its a shampoo and conditioner in one - found round by the big peoples shampoos, they also have a honey scented one too which the girls desperately want but it's never there when we go to buy it. the few times i've managed to run out of my own stuff before shopping/pay day - i've used theirs and it's always been pretty good.

aw Kelly - georgie pie was my favourite - why did that go under - everyone loves georgiepie!
I too remember the smell of the pears shampoo - was that the one that the shampoo was brown coloured and the conditioner was a tan colour and they came in a big pear-shaped bottle?

i hated pantene in my hair. it made my hair go super duper fluffly and it was super hard to mange!! my hair normally goes fluffly after its been washed but oh my after using pantene i looked like a poodle!!!

Same here Tashzmum, everyone tells me how good it is but event he super-moisturising one gives me wayyyy too much volume!
I like fructis or herbal essences for my hair.

I use tresemme, it is quite expensive but you get a lot about 900ml compared to only 400ml in most other shampoos. It is an ex salon shampoo, I swapped as soon as it first came out in supermarkets and have stayed with it ever since.

I am a sunsilk girl here. I have spent an age trying to find one that isn't irritating my scalp and this has done the trick. Smells great too

sunsilk here too it leaves my hair in way better condition than the salon stuff I used to use. You can get free samples of sunsilk sent out if you go to their website. Don't get the one especially for whatever coloured hair you have tho, that one is terrible, its like coloured water.

Well I went looking in Countdown today at shampoo's and found a really nice one for $2.09 a bottle (smelt like apples) but they only had conditioner no shampoo so I didn't get any. Tomorrow is shopping day so i'll have a look at Pak'n'Save for some.
Might have a look at the sunsilk website see if I can get some samples.

I've used Clairol for years and a Pantene hair moisturiser for ends in the last couple of months (great for swimmers hair by the way). Tressemme made my hair fall out and Pantene shampoos and conditioners give me a case of the greaseys!
