My mumgot me one of those ones off flybuys. I havent found anything wrong with it. I only have it on at Hannahs end then turn mine on if I go outside for a while or during the night and I want to check on her without getting up. There are heaps of other whizzbang monitors tht do all sortslike movement sensor ones, but we just wanted a basic one. I guess it depends what you are after in a monitor. HTH

hi i have a philips sound monitor - its the one with the lights on it so you can have the sound turned right down and just keep and eye on the lights. i still use my one esp when we stay at friends as they all have really big hses and i can never hear the boys (more now so i can listen to see what havoc they are causing instead of sleeping) its also got either 200m or 250m range (cant remember which) which is great for outside if you have a big property. Anyway my friend has the more basic model that has no lights and less of a range and shes really happy with it. and i wouldnt be without my one...gives me piece of mind and it has been fantastic. i have had absolutely no probs with it. hope this helps hehe

just read the thread thats been bumped for you and lots have said about the angelcare monitors. i had the movement ones only for the boys (as had the philips sound one already) and they were a godsend. I think i would have gone crazy constantly checking the boys otherwise.

i have the tommy tippee one with the teddy nightlight. i have no probs with it and like it because it has the lights on the front so i can have it on mute when watching telly and the nightlight is awesome.

I never bothered with a baby monitor to tell the truth. jake never had any health probs so we didn't find it necessary. I think if he'd been prem, or had a coold or aomthing earlier on it would've come in helpful though. can you rent them?

lizzle i'm not sure if you can rent them, somewhere probably does. you can quite often pick them up really cheap on trademe
