Hi all,

Just curious to whether anyone knows much about Day 21 bloods for progesterone?

Q: For ovulation to show up in Day 21 bloods, did you have to ovulate on a certain day or range? Like on day 14-16 or something? Or if you ovulated on day 20 or even day 21 would it show up?

Lol I think too much! But something I've been wondering so I thought I'd put it out there.

TIA

I think I have had them done but can't remember the details really. Maybe it was day 14 (helpful aren't I ).

I'm pretty sure though if you have ovulated on day 20 is should show up in the bloods.

Maybe someone else could shed some light.

Kazzle, do you know how long it stays in your system for?

At a level where it would pass for O I mean...

I did them 7 days after ovulation because I had read that it would give the most accurate results. Yes, day 21 just assumes you ovulate around day 14, but if you ovulate a different day it will skew the results. Some doctors just seem to assume that women don't know when they ovulate so they just specify 21 days, but if you are charting you've probably got a better handle on it.

However the way I understand it, if you ovulate on CD20 and do the test on CD21, it is likely to show a week ovulation as your progesterone levels haven't had a chance to rise all the way.
