I'm just wondering what/how much do/did your babies eat when they were around the 9th month mark?
We've tried all sorts of things with Gina but she's turning into quite a fussy bub and also quite often I'm not sure if I can give her things as I'm afraid she's too young.
She hasn't had a reaction to anything we've tried.

TIA

plunket should have given you a blue watties card that tells you what she can and can't have. My Missy is also very picky and I am having trouble getting her to eat meat of any type adn thicker mashes etc. Have just started giving her yogurt, which she loves, and I also give her custard yoghurts, or just custard. I mix them with bby mueslia nd apple for a bit of variety soemtimes, also the goulbourn vally purees, she likes them. She will suck on toast now,a nd a plain bikke. Most things are ok by now, I think.

Yeah I have the Plunket handout and also a baby food cooking book but really just wanted to hear from real-life parents. We've struggled and just don't seem to be getting anywhere very fast.
Thanks for the suggestions Annie.

One more question - are they supposed to have 3 meals a day at this stage? How do you fit those around milk/formula?

My son was pretty much just starting on solids at that stage, and ate a lot of home made stewed apple, no sugar added. And i use to make a pumpkin and kumara mash, with pureed cooked mince thrown in, just a little mince to start with and then as he got older I started to put more in. Use a stick blender or normal blender to puree it. Also had lots of home made vegie mixes. I use to make big lots and then freeze them in patty tins, as they were the right size servings for him.

Good luck with Gina.

Wasn't Gina about 6 weeks early? So you may have to be giving her food for that age...

Anyway I just experimented until I found what my girls liked. Hannah and Briona preferred fruit-based stuff or the sweet veges (e.g. kumara, pumpkin). Kryssi on the other hand liked anything so long as it had meat in it! Anything else was strictly refused!! Had me confused for so long, considering she is my 3rd and wasn't following the other girls' trend lol

Also by 9mos I found that K wanted to feed herself a lot. Crackers/plain biscuits, bits of bread, banana slices, etc. She absolutely loved luncheon and processed cheese slices too.

And now is about the time to start introducing food before feed at most meals.

ETA: K at 9mos was having 4 meals a day with a sleep at 12noon.

C is now having 3 meals a day, and has been properly doing that for a few weeks now, and 2 sometimes 3 for about amonths before that. I feed her about an hour or so before solids and/or straight after, and when ever she wants, she usually lets me know (by coming up and pawing at my chest or biting, lol) I still give her about 5 milks a day, but I'm a drink on demand milkbar!
