Just wondering when everyone stopped using thier breathing monitor (for those who used one)
I have been thinking about selling it now Addison is 16mths, we hardly even turn it on but I just keep thinking what if i get rid of it and something happens.
Thinking of putting her into a big girls bed soon anyway but just wondered around what age did everyone else think it safe to stop using the monitor?

Oh I don't know, but what type of monitor is it? I might be interested in buying if you do decide to sell.

Well don't even question my logic with this one because I don't really know myself, but I stopped using a hospital apnoea alarm on Ashleigh the night I found out my friends baby had just passed away from SIDS. Ashleigh was 4 months old. Her alarm kept going off that night but everytime I went in there (absolutely packing myself, because of the news I had just had) she was fast asleep and breathing normally. So I took it off and never used it again    I would say Addison is well outside of the danger zone, plus if you hardly ever use it then it won't make a difference even if (god forbid) something did happen as it wouldn't be switched on!

cuppatea its an angel care movement monitor.

I can kind of understand where your logic there, my friends wee boy passed away 6 months ago from SIDS and it would have been around the time i stopped using it! Ive always had 1yr in my mind as the time to stop but not sure why and its just actually bringing myself to take it off! We have never had any false alarms thankfully but I know its working cos i test it all the time.

They are kinda self testing arent they? Mine goes off every night.....when I pick him up for a feed and forget about it. You'd think I would learn

We have the Angelcare and use it every night. I test about once a week or so when I remember. We've never had any false alarms either.
To be honest I just can't bring myself not to use it. I'll see how I feel around the time this bub is born - we may stop then so the new bub can have it. I'm not sure yet though - it gives me such a peace of mind esp now that Gina sleeps in her own room at night.
