Hey ladies, our tech guys want to fix problems like these, but they are asking for more details. They aren't able to see precisely what you're seeing, so they're not quite sure where to begin when fixing things. So if you can be really specific answer questions like the ones below, it would really help them to pinpoint the problem!

What exactly, steep by step, is happening when you log in to the forum? ("I logged in, clicked on N, then expected to see D, but instead I saw W..." that kind of thing)

What do you mean by "disappearing"? What is there before and after?

What is the system not doing that it should be doing?

Any screen captures of the problem?

You can just post in here what the problems are, and then we can direct our magical technical fixer-uppers to this thread! :)

Basically, you log in, click on "Active Topics" and it brings up a list of threads posted in since you last logged in. If you post in a thread then click on "Active Topics" again it resets the timeframe to the number of threads posted in since the time of your last post rather than leaving it at your last login.

ETA - oh, and it doesn't do it every time.

when i go to click on active topics it will bring them up then il go and look at a topic and when im done il click the active topics to find another thread and there will be nothing listed under active topics anymore (when there was heaps before hand!!)...hope that makes sense!! lol

And also when i go to read certain posts that have photos in them or big tickers - it cuts off half the post because the adds on the right side are covering it (would be good if the adds sit behind the big posts so we can still read and see pics).

Hi Katherine,
I log on have the active topics set to posts since 4.09pm (for example), then write a post click active topics and it has changed the time to the current time so that pretty much only the topic that I've just written in is still there. Doesn't happen if the active topics is set to 2 hours, or 1 hour etc.
Hope that makes sense.

Hey!
Thanks for letting us know. I have sent our tech guys a link to this thread and have asked them to 'correspond' with you via this thread or email if you're cool with that?
I know it's annoying and I do humbly apologise! Bare with us I think they'll get it sorted by end of day tomorrow!
Thanks
Ang

i think its fair enough if you click active topics five mins after doing it that they arent there anymore...

what i do is after i log in i click active topics then after i have read a post i use my back button but instead of taking me back to the list of active topics there is usually only one or none... or if i post a reply i then use the back button thingy (recent pages list) that gives the choice of how far back you want to go and if i select active topics from there it doesnt take me back to that page it gives me the ones since the last 5 mins or so... before the system maintenance yesterday it was working fine so i think it may be related to something that was done during that time.

When I push the back button I get an error saying it couldn't find the page, but then I refresh and its ok.

I do the same as GandT and am having the same problem.
I log in, click on 'active topics' and go to read a thread. When I'm finished I click 'back' and instead of taking me back to the list of active topics I had before, it has reset itself to the active topics since I left the thread.

i do what GandT does aswell and i have no active topics... and i was away all day yesterday so i am guessing i have alot of active topics to catch up on.. also if i go into a seperate heading(like-pregnancy, general, toddle times etc) it shows no unread topics if that makes sense.

this just happened to me again!!!

came to ohbaby homepage, clicked on forums, clicked on active topics, clicked to read a thread, hit back button, active topics came back up as normal....clicked on a couple more threads then back to active topics each time without probs.......then clicked to go into pg2 of active topics, and the time reset itself to 1min ago

so now i've reset the time to yesterday, which gets rid of the resetting problem, but i have pages of topics to go through now

I'll notify our tech team that this is still going on, but I know they are still working behind the scenes to sort things out so hang in there -- Emma is on leave so if you have any problems, please let me or Angela know! :)

okay - i have an idea - but it's just an idea...
I'm wondering...should we get rid of active topics as an option on the site until we get it sorted.
Which would annoy more? Not having them, or having them while they aren't working consistently?
keen to hear your thoughts...
I don't want you leaving I love reading all about ya's and having a chuckle and learning - you guys are fun!
thanks

oh angie you could never get rid of me that easily!!!

i realise the problem is a hard one to figure out, otherwise it wouldn't be taking this long to sort.
i think keeping the active topics as is would be better than none. it's annoying and frustrating yes, but so is tralling through all the forums.

IMHO
