With Christmas visits coming up, and also a couple of honeymoons (Yay! Fun!) I thought it might be useful to have a thread where we can let the other forum addicts know where we've disappeared to, and roughly how lomg we'll be gone.
I'm not going for another couple of weeks, but some of you are out of here sooner so here you go!

Well I am going to be attached to my computer with a ball and chain (David has threatened to take the monitor lead to work tomorrow though!) until the 5th Jan - When I wake up and realise that I will be moving in 3 days and still need to pack!! Haha
David is working through xmas and new years (joys of farming!) so we will just be doing a combination of packing and seeing friends before we go!!
Hope everyone has a safe and happy Christmas and New Years!!

We're off to Katikati after lunch on Friday, and between now and then I'm going to be busy tidying the house and packing. We'll be back the first week of January, so I'll catch up with you all then! I might be able to come on once or twice more before we go, but probably not.
So, have a great time with your families, and enjoy the holiday fun.
Merry Christmas!

We're getting a cleaner when bubs comes - a gift from my mum!! Once a week for 6 months I'm pretty lucky actually as Jono takes care of all the laundry. All I have to do is put it in the hamper, and next thing I know it's ironed and hanging in the wardrobe Mind you, I do all the cooking and most of the rest of the cleaning and housework - but it's the laundry I hate doing!!

Oh, i don't believe in ironing. None of my clothes ened ironing and Lewis learnt pretty early if he wanted his done, he'd do them himself. Dishes are my nemisis.

you dont know what laundry is until you have a baby! I cant believe how much washing they make!! I dont iron either - dont buy clothes that need to be ironed! I agree Liz, HATE the dishes. I let them build up and have to do a massive wash, when it would be much easier just to do a small lot more often!

I just clicked - when we move I will be without a computer for about 3 days! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO... pack, unpack, clean, stress coz the MIL has invited herself to "help" me unpack....

Poor you Lena. Look at it this way, the third thing is your MIL coming to "help" lol
This weekend marks the first anniversary of my best friends baby being stillborn. I don't know if any of you ladies read the October Little treasures, but her story was in there. So this weekend, there is a memorial service etc, and I am catering it for her, as well as helping out with little stuff like music etc. Getting to a point... Anyhow, i will be busy from now on for that, then next week at work SUPER CRAZY then we are going away for a few days to CHCH for xmas. Looking forward to the break, after a stressful (and sad) ten days.
I will come on tomorrow and post a chrissy pic of Jake.
Hope everyone has a great Chrissy!!
If anyone prays, send up a little one for Emjay on saturday...

Ooo I'm back too. One of the first things I did when I got back was come on here
Picton was a trial. My step-grandmother was giving me lots of "helpful" parenting advice. (Including "You shouldn't do that Nikki, she'll become a nasty spoilt child") Was ready to scream but thought better of it as I actually like my Poppa.
Nelson was much better... except that Hannah picked up a virus (or two) and had ulcers all through her mouth so couldn't eat and was generally verrrryyy unhappy. (Poor campers at 5am on New Year's Day )
Good to be back home!

Joey's 2 front bottom teeth came through!! So as you can imagine that + HOT weather + unusual surroundings made for an interesting week!! LOL, but all in all it was great, didn't stress out about him waking lots or anything because had so much extra help during the day etc.
We are all glad to be back at home though!

Jayde still has a morning boobie too so ill miss that as well. But we so deserve it after having the year from hell. Big hugs to you Emma.
Jakey has 2 teeth now, one half way up and the other just broken through. First one came up week b4 chrissy and 2nd on monday. No worries with them either, I was stoked. Not too keen on the biting when feeding though. First time he did that was on christmas day and it hurt so much I yelled f**k REALLY loud and cried. Oh the shame..........

Don't worry, it's only a stage they go through while teething, and mostly just with the front teeth while they get used to the feeling of them in their mouths.
So if you can survive through teething, BF does get better again!
I remember a few times I have yelped (and sworn very loudly) when Hannah has clamped her teeth down on my nipple Not pleasant at all.

I accidently cut jakes finger when he was about 31/2 months old while cutting his nails. MAN did that sucker bleed!! it bled for hours, i kid you knt. We both sat on the bed howling, me cos i felt so awful and him cos mummy hurt him!! meanest worst mum in the world!! I went back to biting his nails after that! (that was my first and last time with the clippers..)

OMG i so know that feeling. Jaidyn got into my razors last year and cut the end of his thumb off - just the skin. But it bled sooo much i ended up ringing that health line cos i couldnt see how bad the cut was. I managed to get dressings on it but had to chage about 3-4 times. I felt soo bad .
But the neonat nurses told me (after i accidently poked keegs in the eye with a themometer in the hosp when he was tiny and the nurses found me in the corner bawling cos i had hurt my baby) there are plenty of times that as mums we accidently hurt our kids be it tripping over them - my most common one - or the finger cutting but our babes will always forgive and love us!!!

I burnt jake with the seat belt. We had been shopping for honestly about ten minutes. the car was in the shade, but the setabelt had obviously heated up anyway. No mark though!
Actually when jake was little, he had this huge bruise on his arm. I thought that I had hurt him while changing, and started feeling guilty. Until we discovered, the "bruise" was actually a hickey!!! Jake was sucking on his arm when he went to sleep, or while I was burping him.

Fecking bastard. Took a test this morning and it was positive.
Not feeling brilliant. Zeke is sad too. Not the right time for either of us. Grrrr.
Going on the freaking injection as I seem to have superhuman fertility. I've been sooo good with the pill!!!!!!!
Atleast I can take comfort in the fact that I don't actually hate Zeke, it was just hormones.
Anyway, sorry for putting this in a random thread but I don't want to make it a topic on its own as that would make it bigger than I want it to be.
Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Man, and my Mum is coming down to Wellington this weekend and I feel like I've done something wrong!!! I want to tell her but I don't want to disappoint her!

Aw crap. I'm crying now.
Thanks guys.
I didn't really think it'd be positive either, hence putting it off for so long!
I'd been feeling like it was my fault earlier but I think I've come to terms with the fact that this time it was just bad luck.
I went to the doctor and apparently I am about 7 weeks.
I'm going to have a termination, which I'm not that stoked about but just can't possibly deal with another child right now. Little bit selfish but nothing is completely stable in my life and I'm already trying to work out ways to follow my dreams with one kid, with two it'd be impossible. (Or very very very hard.)
But yeah, sad for what won't be.
Maybe in the future.

Yeah, I think I'll tell Mum when she's here. She will be good but it's still scary.
Thanks Kat. I kinda like having Hannah round with me at the moment, she has been giving me lots of hugs!
If I get sick of her, we both might come round
I think I'm back in denial mode so I'll be right for another couple of hours at least

awww nikki! your decision is not a selfish one love! its a very brave one! you are also thinking of the futures of your children. as you say, things in your life aren't stable right now and having another child and putting your studies/dreams on hold will definately effect their lifestyles also!
i'm glad you will have your mum with you soon
