Ok Jack has conjuctivitis and a viral gastro bug (not very bad has had runny poos once and nearly threw up bit didn't). the dr said his eys should be cleared by friday but didn't say if he would still be contagious. We are suppose to be going to orana park (a zoo) with play group on friday, since it will be mainly walking or being in a pram do you think its ok to take him? I'm really excited about going but don't want to make everyone else sick.

Should I or shouldn't I take him?

As long as his eye is clear and its been 24hrs since his last diar or vomit then you are fine to go

I think you'll be ok - so long as he is up to going. If he's still chucking at the time etc then he'll be grumpy AND contagious lol

The doctors and creche teachers say 48 hours - Ella had a tummy bug + ear infection last week

So if he hasn't been sick today then you'll be sweet

yeah i was just about to say the same thing..they say 48 hours to cover them but really it's 24.. the problem is he would still be having his eye close to other kids and stuff and it really is contagious:( but yeah if he's been ok for 24 hours and you have the cream on his eye then it should be ok.

He didn't have any vomiting or d(I so can't spell that) after I posted this and he was pretty happy so we went. His eye was still a bit gross but I told all the other mums and we all just kept him away from the other kids. We had such a lovely time and spent the whole day there. Caprece even slept all night last night so i'm glad we went

Thanks for all the replies
