Ok, Ok, so I am a Kook.
On tuesday, I was talking to a friend, and her partner has just lost his mum, and we were talking about how weird and sad chirstmas will be this year. Last year was the first Xmas without dad, but as he only died on 23rd december, it still hadn't really sunk in etc.
Blah Blah. Anyhow, TV switches itself off during the simpsons, not just off at the remote, but actual button had to be pushed in again.. (Dad hated the Simpsons more than anything else on TV, oh, except maybe coro and any american comedy, but I digress..)
Didn't think much of it, as we have a new TV, so it was just a WTF? moment.
Then at 10.15, the phone rings. Once. (Dad died at 10.15) then rings again at 10.20 (when I arrived back at the hospice) Once. Ok, ok, so just coincidence, but it really put me on edge. No one rings here after 9pm as EVERYONE knows how much I hate it.
I didn't think about Dad at all, with the phone thing, It just freaked me a bit, as I hate it when the phone rings late at night, it always means bad news..
Also, Dad used to do that code, ring once and hang up, so we would ring him back. (Cheap? Noooooo, not my dad, lol)
THEN, when I went to bed, I could smell my Dad. Really. He had this very distinctive smell, baking(he was a baker) mixed with stale smoke and sweat (he was "economical" with deoderant, lol lol) and beer.
It hung round all night, as I was up and down with the kids and didn't get to sleep til after 3am and it was there the whole time, plus this "feeling". Felt weird and a bit creepy, as well.
Spoke to mum this morning and she said her TV turns off during the simpsons often, and at the button as well.
Love and miss ya Dad, but don't be freaking me out, dude, you know I hate the dark!
Anyone else have a weird tingly friday story?

that is freaky but sooo cool. I love stories like that. mine isnt as full on as your one but just after we moved into this new house a few months ago my friend lent me her lateral thigh trainer which is kind of like a stepper thing. One day I noticed a wee pile of screws which i didnt think anything of, they were in a tidy pile so i thought hubby had put them there (doing renovations its not unusual to find nails and screws everywhere) and a couple of days later i jumped on the stepper thing and every screws was missing so the parts where you put your feet fell off and i just about arsed up. Thought it was pretty weird then realised the screws I had seen were off it so i started putting them back in and it was really hard work so no way would kobe have been able to get every single screw out by himself. hubby didnt do it and I didnt do it and addison definately couldnt have done it. Then the next morning Addison jumped on her wee ride on bike and it has a part where the horn and key are and the screws were missing out of that too, every last one of them and the top part fell off! So i think we have a ghost who likes screws.

aawww i love that story!!! i so believe in this kind of stuff!!! my mum has alsorts of these neat stories - both her olds died when she was 14 and she had quite a few unusual contacts with them!!
She likes to do alot of sewing, cross stitch etc and sometimes she get to something that she doesnt know how to fix or she'l break a needle so shel throw it down and yell "you fix it mum!" (her ma taught her all her crafty ways ) then she'l come in hours later and itl be fixed or the needle wont be broken anymore!! and for a long time she and everyone else thought she was going bonkers!!! (ya know - she never broke the needle in the first place kinda thing!) but it still happens to her!
And when Bay was younger and wed stay at mums he would always look at the same spot in the corner and tell us about the 'little "kinny" (skinny) no hair man' that talks to him and we would get chills because he described my ma's pa!! and now Astin stairs at the same spot that Bay always did and chats away and smiles as if hes looking at something!!

well, thats not all, I didn't put this bit in, in case you all thought I was way flaky..
On monday, jake was talking away and saying "muma, dake play with poppy" and I just thought oh ok, he's playing, and as we talk about "poppy", I didn't think too much about it, THEN he brings me over a pictue of him with mum and Dad when he was about 6 months old and points to dad and says "poppy talk to bubba and play with dake"
*shiver*

Annie that is so cool, my friend has had her dad do things like that over the past few days. Must be a dad's thing to do from heaven over the past few days.

I read recently that children up to the age of 12 are highly pyschic. Makes you wonder about children with imaginary friends doesn't it
My Mom died when I was 15 and to this day I will walk into a room and smell her perfume really strongly or think I hear her voice at the other end of the house. My Aunt is a Medium and she told me that my Mum is always with me , and is now watching over Samantha as well. I love that
Oh, and another nice story, my Grandpa died a few months after my Mom, and apparently he goes and visits my Gran every day and sits on the bed beside her while she brushes her hair and he strokes her head. She was told that she would see the impression on the bed, and when she looked you definitley could. Freaky but awesome :)
Can I just add that I love the fact that apparently our families (including pets) stick together in death. So where ever they all are, they are together and will be there waiting for us.

my friend who past away , her baby girl often focuses on a corner of the lounge (where my friend used to stand and look out) and will reach out her arms and smile, like shes reaching for someone.
I like to think her mum is still watching over her

I am enjoying reading these posts, I have had my run ins with the departed ones, some I knew some I didn't. When I was living in Australia and would come home for a visit, mum & I used to just sit and talk for hours about all sorts and at different times (normally when we had been talking about family) the jug would turn on by itself - must have been time for a cuppa.
A few different times while in Australia, while going thru some rough patches, I had a few close friends but I was/felt extremely lonely (my soul if that makes sense) so was sending out these vibes for wanting comfort and companionship and on more than one occasion someone was sent to me - unfortunatly freaked me out at the time more than comforted but at least I knew I wasnt alone.
thinking about this brings back heaps of different times 'strange' things have gone on, or you have just known something or had a brush with de ja vue (sp)

WOW freaky re thdad thing...but nice that he is around!
I beleive in that too...and am sure Ella is being watched over...she often talks to nothing but it is like she is reacting to someone in front of her....
My weirdest was wwen my aunt was dying - i didnt know, my ring got tight while i was in Oz, and had to take it off - it was one she had given me....and when i got back they rushed me to hospital where she was saying "hurry up hurry up" - I arrived and she passed very very soon after...then a few months later mum woke to hear aunty yelling at the cat to stop it...cat was on floor with a ring of my aunts that she was playing with.....
