Most pools say 6 months cos they get too cold otherwise. Although I did find one pool in christchurch that said 3 months cos the baby pool was really warm, it is too far for us to travel though so we are waiting till he is a little older. (I think the pool was in addington).
I know quite a few people that have taken them younger than 6 months they just make sure they are not in the pool for too long.

As cuppatea said some pools will except babies at 3 months, although it is recommended you wait till 5-6 months as they can't control their own body temperatures before that. We enrolled Sam at 5 months, more because that meant she had all her immunisations.

I would definitley recommend swimming lessons though, Samantha just loves hers

We have just started taking Daniel to the pool, he's loving it.. but we only stay in for about 20 or so mins otherwise I do notice him starting to feel a little cool.

I started taking Ella to the pool when she was 4 months old- she loves it  . We only stay in for 20 mins max as well...after that she starts to get a bit tired (and hungry).
