Lewis and I are making the kids a train table for xmas after Taine LOVES the one at toy world and we saw the prices for them. We've got the base - have undercoated it and now it is beautiful grass green. Got the sides today and plan to cut them to size and get them undercoated by monday. Oooooh, is all coming together nicely.
am so proud as I'm not really a buildy kind of person. the only woodwork thing I did was a stool in form two which every one in my family refused to sit on - did look rather dodgy and had a wicked lean. So it is so exciting. am planning to take some photos of the stages.
stage one: base coat of base
stage two: sides - cut, undercoat and paint
stage three: legs - cut undercoat and paint
stage four: put together
stage five: finishing touches of decoupage Thomas' on the sides
stage six: merry xmas boys!!! - hopefully without sticky paint from being done on xmas eve.

did the sawing today. More difficult than I thought, but hopefully everything is straight. discovered paint brush wasn't cleaned properly and is now less "brush" and more "stick" so will get new one tomorrow when i get jake's hair cut. Planks were more expensive than I thought and we spent $40 on them. Have decided to undercoat and paint one side, then gle and screw, then sand the corners, then paint other side. longer but will look better i think
